Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Delania Brown. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Delania, appreciate you joining us today. Can you tell us about a time where you or your team really helped a customer get an amazing result?
God has blessed me so much with my gifts. I have to give him glory first because I start this story. I started in this world of being an entrepreneur when I was 21 years old. I’m from a lil town call St. James parish, that’s in Louisiana. When I first had my first son. I started a catering company called C&D’s Catering. At the time I was just trying to make sure I can take care of my son by being a single parent. I use my passion of cooking and serving to my community. The C is for Claudia my mother and the D is for Delania. We did this for many years. Cooking & serving all types of people & food. We are known for our Fruit Table Displays. I know I wanted more for me & my family. I started another business under the umbrella of C&D’s Catering and it calls Heart 2 Heart. This business focus more on getting the love back in the household & kitchen with families. Spending time with my family is important. The world we living in right now, we need to love on each more. Some of the items I sell are cookbooks all of my special recipes,(hoping and praying that families use the cookbook together), aprons, cooking spoons, cutting boards and more. In 2020 Covid-19 hit so leaving out the house in Louisiana we couldn’t do. I wanted to do something that brings joy back in my kid’s life because I have a six years old son and a 17 years old son. So I added another business under the C&D’s Catering umbrella and it’s called Sweet Fluffy Clouds. This business is something sweet. We sell cotton candy, homemade ice cream, and all kinds of unique desserts. Everything that will make a child smile and adults. My business idea I would like to take my business to the next level. I just purchase a food trailer. I always wanted a building but cost of living in Louisiana is so expensive. I had to come up with another idea that I can share with my clients & customers. I love what I do. My business plan really is to make sure everyone I meet leave feeling special and happy. I want to make sure I made a difference in their life with all the items I offer with my business. In this business I have faced a lot of challenges. Me taking sick, death of a parent, and moving. Trying to deal with all of this while running a business. But with the grace of God I made it this far.

Delania, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I learned running a business is so hard. With everything that’s going on with this world we have to keep up with the times.

I learned so much in this business. Down too not everyone going to see your vision. Not everyone is made to be business owners or even work with. I learned that I cant trust everyone. I pray alot and ask God to send the right people in my life to work with.
