We were lucky to catch up with Dejah Gomez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Dejah thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
At the age of 5, I took the risk to use my voice to sing. I knew from the moment I witnessed a mother daughter duo singing at church, that I too, would one day be brave enough to sing my heart out for all to hear and feel.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
As a practitioner of wellness, my mission is simple: to serve and support others as they heal, connect, and find their highest purpose. I act as a devoted guide, encouraging your growth by introducing you to your own inner healer and helping you access your inner clarity and divine purpose.
My vision is of a future where workplaces, schools, and other community spaces are built on a foundation of wellness and where every individual is fully supported and empowered to solve issues, make their greatest contribution, and enjoy the highest quality of life.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I was introduced to Kundalini Yoga during very difficult time in my life. It became my anchor. As I began learning mantra and chanting, meditation and pranayama, I began to transform and the ways that I expressed my artistry began to shift. I didn’t want to sing songs I used to sing.
Prior to Kundalini Yoga, I was touring with legends worldwide singing their music. Now, I sing my music as mantras and I chant.
This opened up a whole new world of healing, health and wellness. I began to desire to serve and heal through my music which led me to explore how to integrate health and wellness with my music and create experiences that captured all of my truth in totality, the spiritual and the musical sides, harmoniously.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
The mission driving my creative journey is healing the world by supporting and guiding others through their healing journeys.
It is my desire to be the greatest love and brightest light that heals, in and through all of my expressions, musically and educationally.
