We recently connected with Deion Alexander and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Deion thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
Honestly it was just my passion for being creative and standing out, I realized that in the beverage industry it can be extremely competitive so I understood that I would need to create a product that would be able to stand alone. The name charged comes from the idea of hydration(hydrated) as the purpose of water is to hydrate and replenish your body I relate this to our cell phones as in we must re charge when we are low to build back up to keep going and perform to our best ability. Our product Charged represents the same principle and whether you are athlete, doctor, entertainer, health enthusiasts or water lover you will be able to relate to our product.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I wanted to get in the beverage industry because I always found it fascinating how you can take a small product build it and the whole world can love it. Its really the creation process not to mention the connection you can create with people through product if done correctly. Also I am a water lover myself and I know how satisfying it can be to taste great clean water.
To add what makes us different is that our brand is not solely about water but the lifestyle and the people that connect to our product. Our brand relates to health wellness.. fitness.. luxury and overall enjoyment of life.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy so far has been attending networking events and not being afraid to step out of your comfort zone to pitch your product to strangers… I apply this principle on social media as I’ organically engage with as many people as possible through comments and direct messages.
My favorite strategy is connecting directly with companies and organizations it helps because it creates organic relationships and I am able to analyze how I can solve their problem

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Honestly everyday as I strive to grow the business and build clientele.. every meeting is not a yes it take several follow ups and emails, that may not always get responded to. In the beginning stages this would leave me discouraged, but I remembered that no can sometimes just mean not right now. I try to grow from each one by seeing is there things that I can improve on for example is my approach off, am I clear with what I’m asking for? Am I making sure deals are beneficial for both sides? I remember my first time approaching a hotel group i was nervous I felt I was not qualified because business is not my original background but I remember my why and told myself that I could only grow from this point and that carried me through to eventually landing our first hotel partnership
