Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Deezil Greezil. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Deezil , appreciate you joining us today. Do you feel you or your work has ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized? If so, tell us the story and how/why it happened and if there are any interesting learnings or insights you took from the experience?
Yes — absolutely. As a comedian, speaker, and creator, my work often mixes humor, honesty, and cultural commentary. That blend can be misunderstood, especially by people who only hear the joke and miss the intention behind it.
One example was a piece of content I posted that went viral. It was funny, but it also challenged people to think deeper about discipline and accountability. Some folks called it “harsh” or “negative,” even though the goal was growth, not criticism.
What I learned is this: when you speak truth with clarity and confidence, people will sometimes mischaracterize you — not because you’re wrong, but because you’re pushing them past their comfort zone.
It taught me to keep my intention clear, stay grounded in my purpose, and never water down my message just to avoid being misunderstood. In fact, the misunderstanding was confirmation that I’m operating in my lane: making people think, laugh, and elevate at the same time.

Deezil , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m The Incomparable Deezil Greezil — a comedian, author, speaker, music producer, and one of the creative engines behind Life Is Funny Entertainment. Everything I do sits at the intersection of humor, truth-telling, and personal transformation. I use comedy as the front door, but the message behind it is always bigger: growth, accountability, culture, and elevation.
I got into this industry the long way — not by chasing trends, but by studying people, studying life, and using my own story as fuel. I started creating content because I noticed people weren’t just craving laughs… they were craving clarity. They wanted somebody to say the things everyone tiptoes around, but to say it with intelligence, intention, and heart. That’s my lane.
My work now spans multiple disciplines:
• Stand-up comedy and live shows
• Motivational speaking and social commentary
• Books and eBooks covering purpose, discipline, spirituality, relationships, and self-development
• Children’s books built around creativity and emotional growth
• Music projects, both comedic and soulful
• AI-driven storytelling, education, and digital media production
• Brand development, creative consulting, and content strategy
At the core, I solve problems around perspective. I help people think differently, laugh differently, and ultimately live differently. My audience comes to me when they’re tired of surface-level entertainment and ready for something real — something that challenges them while still entertaining them.
What sets me apart is that my brand doesn’t rely on shock value or gimmicks. I’m consistent, intentional, and multidimensional. I can make you laugh, make you reflect, and make you level up — all in the same piece of content. And I do it without pretending to be perfect or trying to fit into anybody’s algorithm.
What I’m most proud of is the ecosystem I’m building. Not just jokes. Not just books. Not just music. But an entire creative universe where Black culture, truth-telling, comedy, motivation, and technology meet. I’m proving you can be wise and funny, creative and disciplined, artistic and entrepreneurial — all at once.
What I want new followers, clients, and fans to know is simple: I take the work seriously because I take *your growth* seriously. Everything I create — whether it’s a comedy set, a children’s story, a mantra, a book, a video, or an album — is designed to make your life better in some way. To make you think deeper. To push you forward. To remind you that life is funny, but it’s also yours to master.
If you want substance, strategy, storytelling, and a voice that cuts through the noise, that’s me. That’s The Incomparable Deezil Greezil.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Yes. My mission is simple: to use creativity as a tool for elevation. Everything I create — comedy, books, music, commentary, AI-driven content — is designed to help people think deeper, grow stronger, and see life from a higher perspective than they did yesterday.
I believe humor is one of the most powerful delivery systems for truth. People will ignore advice, but they’ll never forget a message that made them laugh while it woke them up. My goal is to blend entertainment with empowerment so that my audience doesn’t just consume content — they evolve from it.
I’m also driven by representation and legacy. I want to show that a Black creator can build a full creative ecosystem: books, shows, music, children’s media, tech-powered storytelling, and community impact, all under one unified vision. I want people to understand that you don’t have to fit into one box. You can be multidimensional and still be excellent.
At the end of the day, my mission is to help people flip the switch — mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and financially. If my work makes someone laugh, think, and level up in the same moment, then I’m doing exactly what I’m here to do.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
Absolutely. One of the biggest things non-creatives struggle to understand is that the creative journey isn’t just about “making content” — it’s about managing energy, vision, and vulnerability all at the same time. Creative work looks effortless from the outside, but it takes an incredible amount of emotional, mental, and strategic labor behind the scenes.
People see the finished product — the joke, the video, the book, the skit — but they don’t see the hours spent thinking, refining, doubting, rebuilding, and pushing through resistance. They don’t see the courage it takes to put your ideas in front of the world knowing those ideas will be judged, misunderstood, copied, or dismissed before they’re ever appreciated.
Another thing people don’t grasp is that creativity isn’t “optional” for us. It’s oxygen. It’s how we process life. It’s how we communicate meaning. When a creative stops creating, it’s rarely about laziness — it’s about being drained, unsupported, or uninspired.
So the insight I’d give non-creatives is this:
Support the people in your life who create. Encourage them. Respect the work you don’t see. Understand that creativity is a full-time mental ecosystem — not a hobby someone turns on and off.
And most importantly, recognize this truth: creatives aren’t just making art… they’re making sense of the world in ways that help everyone else survive it.
