Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dee Taylor. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Dee, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?

In the summer of 2012, I was going through some tough things mentally and my passion for fashion, design, photography, and art really returned. I got the opportunity to see things differently from how I previous viewed everything. I would call that summer the season of real mental growth. Initially I went over several names but Keys Create stuck for a reason. I say that because during that summer I got the chance to really spend time with my grandmother as she gave me a key to her apartment. At that time she was dealing with health issues as she had Stage 4 cancer but she was in remission. However other health issues like her arthritis really made it hard for her to get out of bed on her own. So I would go to her apartment everyday around 12 p.m. and stay until around 9 p.m. during the week to help her get out of bed to use her commode and fix her food. During my time going to her apartment I caught some great sunsets and got into painting again. Spending that time with her inspired me in ways that I wouldn’t even imagine. So the key that she gave me created different creative opportunities for me. So Keys Create turned into CLAVE CREA, which is the Spanish translation of keys create. The true inspiration is my grandmother trusting me to help her in her time of need.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

My name is Dee Taylor, Owner of CLAVE CREA LLC, a custom printing service. My love for all things design created this company. We offer custom printed merchandise to all types of clients, whether it’s promotional products for a company or birthday shirts for a party. Clients usually come to us as we offer great quality products and exceptional turnaround times. We pride ourselves in being able to deliver the best quality product for our clients. It makes us proud that we have been able to bring our clients vision to life and have them refer new clients because of doing great work. We want new clients to know that we will continue provide great service and give them the best experience when it comes to choosing CLAVE CREA as their preferred printing service.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

My life journey so far has been filled with many ups and downs. I lost my mother at 17 years old the summer after I graduated high school. Certain moments that every teen shared with their parents, I wasn’t able to get that and it really effected me. I was a freshman in college a few weeks after her passing and it forced me to grow up quickly. I experienced that grief on my own which made me feel alone a lot. There were dark days where I couldn’t even get out of bed. However, I’m super thankful for the past friendships that was rekindled and the new ones that were created as they don’t realize that if it weren’t for them I don’t know how I would have survived that period in time. Being resilient while going through life’s hardships has been a challenge but you can’t really stay in those moments. You have to find the courage and strength to overcome those obstacles and continue on.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

The best source of new clients have been referrals. When you do good work, your clients refer you to new people. Our turnaround time has also generated new customers. We often times are contacted in last minute situations and make it happen for the client. So we continue to focus on quality work and the best turnaround times.
