Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Debrayta Salley. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Debrayta, appreciate you joining us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
My Business has evolved multiple times over the past 14 years. I started out as an Author who would use her story to heal, deliver, empower and encourage others to Live their Best Lives. Shortly after my husbands’ sudden death in 2009, I was presented with an opportunity to write my story and be part of an Anthology. I had just lived through being his Care Giver for approximately 9 months and an outlet to express my experiences was just what I needed. After that Blessed experience, my spirit was set on fire to begin helping others to whom I was assigned even the more. After years of giving helpful advice to others, I finally decided to pursue certification as a Life Coach. Within a year, I was Certified as a Life Coach and shortly thereafter, a Certified Biblical Life Coach.
In building my business, I had to be Prayerful, identify the pain points and solutions that I had been equipped to offer, get quiet so that I could hear the full blueprint of how to carry that out so that it would not be contaminated by my desires or what I saw others doing in the Marketplace, I’ve also had to humble myself and be open to the shifts that God would take me through personally that would affect my business/ministry. Sometimes what you built initially will grow and mature as you do.
Moving beyond the idea phase and actually launching your business will take much focus, determination, diligence, grace, flexibility and a clear blueprint. Be open to allowing your business to grow as you grow.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Debrayta Salley aka Debrayta Denise. I mentioned prior how I began in the field of writing as an Author and also as a Life Coach. Over the years, I have become a Wellness Advocate for myself and for others. I realize that we cannot be of service to anyone else unless we are well in Body, Soul and Spirit. As a result, I’ve been Blessed to Host events and provide Safe Spaces for Women to step away from their daily responsibilities, be still and participate in economical activities that would help to refuel them, I am most grateful to God for the ability to see when I am possibly burning my candle at both ends. This allows me to course correct and put on my own facemask before I go and “save the world” so to speak.
I also serve as an Administrative Consultant to small and mid-sized businesses assisting them by Lightening the Load of their Business tasks so they can focus on their crafts.
My Mission is to Empower Paths, Support Growth, and Inspire Change on Client/Connection at a time.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I keep in touch with potential clients and foster brand loyalty by Monthly/Periodic updates to my Email Subscribers. I share with them more authentic experiences and situations with them than I do on social media. I do this because they have chosen to “subscribe” to my brand/me which tells me that there was something about me or my brand that spoke directly to them.
I also give them the opportunity to have first access to any events, etc that I may be hosting.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
From the inception of my Business/Ministry up to now, I have endured and overcome many obstacles especially in the area of my Health. As a result, having to be resilient has become a way of Life for me. To be honest, I have to admit that at times I have desired that none of those issues would have been in my life, but today, I know that they have made me a stronger, better and wiser woman. My resilient journey hasn’t always been easy. In fact, there were times when I wanted to give up and leave others to care for themselves and while that may have worked for a time period, when you have been Called to a task or assignment, it will never, ever leave you alone. It will emanate from you even when you’re trying to ignore it. Consequently, I’ve learned how to Rest, but not Quit!
