We recently connected with Debra Storey and have shared our conversation below.
Debra, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?
The brand Blazzian Collection story.
The word Blazzian originated from Blasian meaning Black and Asian which is my background. I included a part of myself within my brand name because every design is originally created based off of how I feel, what I’ve seen growing up and what feels right to me.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Blazzian Collection – Beautifully handcrafted, one of a kind, high fashion luxury brand specializing in evening gowns and cocktail wear.
It all started in 2004, when Debra attended the International Academy of Design & Technology in Henderson, NV to further her fashion education and design skills. In addition to her fashion knowledge and experience, Debra has an Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Administration, Human Resource Management. Debra is currently working on her MFA Fashion Merchandising and Management degree with the Academy of Art University.
Debra is a creative thinker with a sharp business sense and a big heart for community outreach projects. She believes in community building and loves inspiring the next generation of talent. In 2008, Blazzian Collection was introduced at the Vegas Fashion Show Party at the Ice House Lounge in Las Vegas, NV where Debra showcased a few pieces she created.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I definitely love the team I’m working with now and wished that I met them earlier in my journey but I do believe that all things happen in due time when we’re ready to receive it so this team just came right on time.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Besides creating exciting designs, showcasing at events, and meeting wonderful and important people, my personal mission is to lift others up and to give back to the community.
