Deborah, appreciate you joining us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
When I first got into real estate I was doing it part time then eventually stopped doing it. It wasn’t until 3 year ago I had some life changes and I decided to take a leap of faith and pursue it full time!! It’s definitely a challenging career but I have a passion for helping people and teaching them about the importance of ownership so I continue to keep at it.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Deborah and I am a realtor in KS and Mo. I decided to pursue a career in real estate because I wanted to help people buy and sell. After learning the business I realized that there was a huge wealth gap in my community when it came to homeownership and it was something I definitely wanted to teach my people about. I wanted to tell my story on how I purchased my property using a FHA loan with little to no money down. Give people information on how they can also do it too and help them knock that goal off. Not only that gave them different ways on making extra money in the long run and the importance on building generational wealth. I am very passionate about what I do and I love helping whoever wants to help their selves.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I would say I use social media as a tool to show people I am in real estate. I definitely like to use that as a main source of marketing and I also attend different events where I can connect and meet new people and tell them about what I do. I host small businesses pop up shops and hold open houses. I do video marketing and home tours to show and inspire people to want to get into real estate.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Past client referrals and helping first time home buyers.
