We recently connected with Debbie Williams and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Debbie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
I originally started my career as a cosmetologist who specialized in natural hair and extensions. Over the years, I noticed that many of my clients were experiencing hair loss and thinning although their hair was properly taken care of. I knew it had to be something bigger than hair so I recommended that they speak with their doctor because I knew it was something going on with my clients’ internal health. When their doctors kept telling them everything looks normal, I knew I had to take matters into my own hands and dig a little deeper. This led me to become a trichologist, a specialist who studies hair and scalp disorders. Through this journey, I was able to learn more about hair and scalp disorders such as alopecia, scalp dermatitis and psoriasis, male and female pattern baldness, and so much more. Although this journey helped me better educate my clients on what’s going on with their hair and scalp, it did not give me the “why” they are experiencing these hair and scalp issues. Again, I dug a little deeper, which led me to become a Board-Certified Nutritionist. This journey has led me to educate my clients and social media audience that hair health and internal health are all connected. I help them heal themselves holistically through natural remedies and recipes. The rest is history.
