We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Debbie Hudecek. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Debbie below.
Alright, Debbie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Having been in the beauty industry for over 25 years and observing how different owners ran their businesses I felt I could bring about a change. Opening Lavish Boutique Salon gave me the opportunity to elevate how a salon was run! I wanted to empower and encourage the stylists, esthetician and salon coordinator to have a voice and involvement in the running of an upscale salon. I feel if everyone has an opinion it makes for a happy cohesive environment. My goal was to create a one-of-a-kind upscale salon where our clients come into and feel the stress of their lives melt away! Starting with a warm greeting a lovely beverage and sweet treat to begin the relaxing experience we provide.
Debbie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Honestly talking about myself doesn’t come first nature to me. Although my journey actually was do to a the end of a 24 year marriage and needing to provide for myself and my 3 children. I have Business degree but I wanted a career that allowed the freedom to be with my children. I have loved skincare going back to watching my mother with her daily skincare ritual. A friend encouraged to become educated in skincare and then begin my career as an esthetician. Opening Lavish Boutique Salon came 20 years later. I love what I do and have never looked back! I applied myself to hard work and continued education to get where I am today. I utilize some of the industry top skincare lines as well as equipment to provide a professional and 1st class, result driven experience for my clients. I also want everyone to know any treatment I do I have personally performed on myself. From state of the art equipment to the skin care products I use. In Essence I’m a guinea pig before I even touch a client.. this truly is the only way I can honestly do my job. I need to know first hand how each product will react and or treatment . I also know this gives my clients great confidence in me.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
I believe it is imperative to lead by example. Allowing each person to have a voice and an opinion I feel this empowers people working within the salon and to take accountability for their actions and care about the Salon as a team. I have an open door policy, if anyone may have any issues or concerns to come to me and I will always stay open minded, listen and or rectifying any issues. This is important to keeping a happy cohesive work environment. Lavish would nothing without all the people working together that has made her a family.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
It’s simple answer!
Referrals truly are and have been the best source to obtaining and keeping clients. We have advertised in the local paper. We have done fundraisers, but still, I would have to say the personal referral would be #1 way we have built our business. Maintaining our clients I feel is the incredible, personal touch that we provide each of our clients. We truly care about everyone that walks through our door.
