Debbie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
I had always been an outdoor person, especially enjoying the activities the mountains of Colorado offers. In the early 1990’s I was brought to a halt in my activities when I developed severe asthma. I could not run, hike, bike, or climb the “14er’s” (mountain peaks over 14,000 ft in altitude). I couldn’t even walk over a few hundred feet without the aid of an inhaler. After a few years I was depressed and disillusioned with health care for lack of a cure of better solution for my condition. I should mention that I had been in health care as a nurse for almost 20 years, and my disillusionment was a bit more pronounced because of my “medical:” knowledge.
In the mid 90’s. I went to a transcendental meditation class when a friend of mine invited me to join her. I began sitting in meditation most days and enjoyed the silence and peace I experienced. A couple of weeks later another friend asked me to go to a yoga class with her. I told her I wasn’t sure I would be able to do yoga because of my asthma. She convinced me to go and at least try it.
I fell in love with yoga. When I walked into the studio I was immediately struck by the candles burning providing a glow in the low lit room. There was incense burning which surprisingly did not affect my lungs. The instructor was kind and offered alternative poses if I needed. The instructor and all the students were non-judgmental and supportive.
I continued meditation and yoga almost on a daily basis. Six months after I began these practices, I climbed Mt Princeton, a local “14er”. I did this over 6 mile hike with an altitude gain of 3200 feet without the aid of any medication or inhalers. Quite the celebration on top of that peak! I haven’t had any sign or symptom of asthma. since then and use any type of medication.
After my experience of healing myself over a six month period, I had the insight that I had been treated for my symptoms and not the cause which was a deeper level than the body. I needed to treat the whole person – body, mind, and spirit.
That insight sent me on a journey that I continue to this day. I began reading different books on meditation, yoga, metaphysical healing and included greats like Dr Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay, Marianne Williamson, Eckhart Tolle, Gary Zukav, and others. This journey led me to Dr Deepak Chopra and his teachings where I became a certified educator through the Chopra Global.
The work with Deepak has propelled me to assist others on their journey to healing – body, min, and spirit.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
At its core, Ayurveda is a holistic system of medicine and living that originated in India over 5,000 years ago. Its basic components are like the foundation stones—it’s where all the healing principles and practices stem from.
In the course over five sessions we explore the five elements that everything in the universe is made of and how they combine to form the three governing forces called doshas, or the body-mind types. Everyone has all three types but in unique proportions for each individual.
The pillars of health are broken down and explored along with how our digestive fire, our agni, affects our health and disease. The daily and seasonal routines are explored and how we can align to optimal lifestyle with natural rhythms.
Ayurveda sees the body, mind, and spiritual connection as essential to health.
The Ancient Wisdom Mantra Meditation course is a personalized mantra-based meditation technique where you receive a personal mantra—a specific sound from nature calculated from your birth details—that helps your mind settle into deep silence and expanded awareness. This mantra isn’t just a random word; it’s drawn from the Vedic tradition and tuned to your unique energetic blueprint.
This primordial sound meditation is also based in ancient roots based on 5,000 year old Vedic wisdom and the mantra you receive is unique to you. There are numerous benefits with a few being: it helps reduce stress, improves sleep, enhances creativity, deepens self-awareness, and fosters inner peace.
During the course you receive a deeper understanding of meditation and its origins. You receive your personal mantra in a private session. You learn the correct way to use it and guidance on integrating meditation into daily life.
In the Q’ero lineage, the shamanic path unfolds through levels of initiation, each deepening your connection with Mother Earth, the sacred mountain spirits, and the cosmic forces of life.
I use energy medicine to guide healing ceremonies, clear heavy energies, and help people reconnect with themselves, nature, and their spiritual path. My work moves beyond personal healing into service for the community and the collective.
My other purpose is to assist in guiding people into the deeper layers of their inner world—the shadow—where old wounds, fears, and limiting beliefs often hide. Together, we bring those hidden parts into the light, uncover family patterns that have been unconsciously passed down, and release what no longer serves. One can then break free from invisible threads that have bound them and uncover buried emotions, inherited patterns, and unspoken stories. This opens space for greater self-awareness, compassion, authentic living and reclaiming personal power.
When you frame your work through Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey, you’re showing people that their struggles, healing, and transformation are part of a universal story—one that’s both deeply personal and timeless.
By utilizing the steps from Joseph Campbell’s The Hero’s Journey I act as a guide and mentor for people who are walking through their own Hero’s Journey, that their struggles, healing, and transformation are part of recognizing where they are in the cycle, to face the challenges ahead, and to return transformed with new wisdom to share.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
For many years, I carried a deep belief that I wasn’t enough—unworthy of love, success, or even my own dreams. It showed up in my health, my relationships, and the way I spoke to myself.
That belief became too heavy to carry, and I knew I had to find another way. I finally answered the call and underwent my own hero’s journey.
My journey took me through many healing paths—each offering a piece of the puzzle.
Ayurveda taught me how to care for my body and live in harmony with nature’s rhythms. Primordial Sound Meditation gave me access to a quiet, loving space inside myself. Yoga helped me reconnect with my body and breath. Shadow Work gave me the courage to face the parts of myself I had judged or hidden. Generational Trauma Healing freed me from patterns that weren’t even mine to carry. Q’ero Shamanic Ceremonies helped me release old energy and call my power back. And my health care and nursing knowledge grounded it all in practical care and compassion.
Through these practices, I learned that worthiness is not something you earn—it’s something you remember. Now, I help others walk their own path from self-doubt to self-trust, guiding them with the same tools that transformed my life.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I’ve built my reputation by walking my own healing path and guiding others with honesty, compassion, and unwavering advocacy. My background as a nurse and nurse director/manager taught me how to stand up for my patients and support my staff, ensuring they always felt heard, respected, and cared for. That same dedication flows into my work today, where I combine Ayurveda, Primordial Sound Meditation, yoga, shadow work, generational trauma healing, and Q’ero shamanic practices.
Clients trust me because I’ve lived the transformation I teach—I know what it’s like to feel unhealthy, out of balance, scared to move forward, and unworthy, and I know the power of these tools to create lasting change. Whether in ceremony, in conversation, or in deep healing work, I create a safe, nonjudgmental space where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to reclaim their wholeness. What’s helped me build my reputation is a combination of my own healing journey, my formal training, and the results my clients experience. People know I don’t just teach these practices—I’ve lived them, and I blend ancient wisdom with modern care so my work is both deeply spiritual and grounded in science.
