We recently connected with Debanhi Green and have shared our conversation below.

Debanhi, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

DebanhiGreenPhotograhy is a small owned business that photographs special moments. We photograph weddings, graduations, engagements, maternity, family, and newborn portraits as well. I have always wanted to start my own business in this hiding hobby of mine and once my husband purchased my first camera in 2016 everything just felt right. Once I started to get clients I loved to be able to capture such big moments in their lives and also create friendships along the way. I loved being able to take this hobby and transform it into something bigger. So after feeling such a joy after picking up my camera for the first time, I told myself that my mission would be to be there for people that wanted to capture their favorite moments just so that one day they can have those pictures to look back on.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

Well hello there I am the owner and photographer of DebanhiGreenPhotography. My name is Debanhi Green, I am a wife and a mother to 4 beautiful kids. And honestly, it all started with just trying to document moments in my life, with my kids and husband that they just went a little further than that. I wanted a camera so that I would be able to capture milestones in my kids life and then we decided that maybe we should start a business out of it, and be able to be apart of other families lives to help them capture those moments. Here at DebanhiGreenPhotography we photograph weddings, engagements, graduations, family and newborn portraits. We love to get connected with our clients and even sometimes develop a friendship with them. One thing that I am very proud of is that I have recently dove in to wedding photography and just felt in love with it. I feel in love with watching couples marry their forever’s and be able to capture their love through my lens. I just loved photographing weddings now. Its my new favorite thing to do. I just hope that people know that whenever they decide to get photograph with us that we are not just taking pictures and delivering pictures, we take pride in building a relationship with our clients and being able to once in a life time pictures.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

The most effective way to grow clientele is honestly word of mouth. I have found out that just people loving your work and recommending you to their families and friends is the best way that I have been able to grow this business.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?

There is a couple of photographers that I have to give a lot of props to for their teachings. Katelyn James and Amy and Jordan Demos have been the most helpful people in my business…. and everything has been purely by video.. I have learned so much just by watching their videos and practicing what they teach. Everything I have learn has been from them.
