Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Deb Arnold. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Deb, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you take vacations? Why or why not?
Work/life balance is one of the most important things to achieve; not only is it essential for my own mental health, but it is also essential for the health of a business, especially in a business such as mine, where I pride myself on my ability to build long-lasting relationships with my clients. Vacations are a valuable tool when striving for a suitable work/life balance. By unplugging every once in a while, I allow myself the time to reevaluate my thoughts and processes both personally and professionally.
Even though I do take vacations, and I feel they are essential to success, one thing I have taken away from my chosen career path is that when you love what you do, making time for one’s clients is never an issue. I have found that loving what I do and taking time to unwind is the best recipe for success.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
After being laid off at six months pregnant I decided to take the opportunity to pursue my dreams. By remaining positive, studying hard, and relying on my family’s support, I obtained my license in real estate. The relationships I had built over the years became my sphere of influence and that influence guided my professional career to one of success. Not only did my family, friends, and teachers instruct me on how to be a successful realtor, but so did my many clients. Without their feedback and my experiences with each client, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
Owning your own business certainly has its ups and downs. When the housing market was absolutely booming there were challenges, such as guiding clients through setbacks and lost deals. However, there are also challenges in a slower, more normal housing market, such as guiding clients through longer waiting periods when selling or buying homes. Learning how to navigate each challenge has made me a stronger Realtor; there is always a lesson to learn.
I am a real estate agent in the greater Houston area, but also have clients in Bryan/College Station and Crystal Beach. I have a passion for networking and building lifelong relationships. I am most definitely a “people person” where conversing and empathizing with individuals comes naturally to me. I pride myself on hard work, integrity, and outstanding client service because those core values are something I strongly stand by.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
As I began to navigate the world of realty, I knew the relationships I had fostered over the years would become essential, as they say “word of mouth is everything.” Social media quickly became my tool of choice to spread the word of my real estate services. The trick to social media is to not only post a photograph, but to always add a catchy quip or phrase, something to hook the audience. After a bit of practice, I have honed my skill at turning a phrase and I thoroughly enjoy the challenge of keeping my audience engaged.
I also use social media to build these essential relationships by inviting my clients into my life, to make a personal connection with them. We are a team and a team works best when they actually know each other; I care deeply for my clients and strive to make them feel like family. I want my clients to know who I am, not just business; I am in the business of people, helping to turn dreams into homes.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Continuing to learn and seek knowledge has enabled me to foster a trustworthy and caring reputation in my market. I have been afforded the opportunity to be a part of an excellent and experienced team of agents who have helped me to learn the business as well as exposed to me to the many different facets of this industry. Our weekly Mastermind Classes enable us to brainstorm and learn from each other; and it is these lessons that I take into the world and apply them to my craft. It is my goal to make my clients feel comfortable throughout the entire process and the only way to achieve a high level of comfort is to learn as much as I can; my reputation is one of not only fair dealing, but also of care.
