Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to DeAnna Rae. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi DeAnna, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
I’m no stranger to taking risks in my life, including moving across the country several times to “start over” and finally in 2006 deciding that working for someone else’s dreams just wasn’t cutting it for me anymore. It was then that I decided to jump into the world of entrepreneurship, a single mother with my one year old daughter in tow. That business thrived and expanded for over 13 years, until I discovered the world of hypnosis. It wasn’t long after, I realized I was ready for a new challenge and almost immediately committed to changing my career path and to learn the fascinating art of using hypnosis and hypnotherapy in order to help others release those things that have held them stuck and unable to experience the freedom to move forward.
That brings me to my most recent risk, which was relocating myself and my Hypnotherapy business one last time from Long Beach, Ca. to Kansas City. With all of that being said, over the years, many have tried to coax me to take the safe route and to keep the status quo, but that’s just NEVER been me. There’s always been something inside of me that needs the space to expand and find my own way and on my terms.
Each time I’ve set out in a “risky” situation, re-defining a part of my story to include something new and exciting, it’s at times felt very daunting, overwhelming and a scary. But, the thing is, each of those experiences created a wealth of invaluable skills, wisdom and experience that only come from putting oneself out there.
In hindsight, I wouldn’t change a single risk I’ve taken since they’ve created a beautiful tapestry that showcases my best life. And no one and nothing can take that from me.
I own each of my missteps as well as my successes and I encourage anyone out there, who feels that internal push to color outside of the lines, to listen to that small voice inside. It’s your future self and it’s calling you forward, into something new and rewarding well beyond how you may have kept yourself playing small in the past.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I was introduced to hypnosis several years ago and was intrigued as I discovered all of the quick and easy life changing experiences that were possible, so decided to give it a try. My own hypnosis experience was nothing short of amazing! As I did more research about the background and scope of hypnosis, I was stunned at how quickly people are able to gain insight and control over their lives using this type of therapy.
This sparked an incredible passion for hypnosis and soon afterward, I knew facilitating these types of life-changing experiences is what I wanted to dedicate my time and energy to.
I decided to enroll and complete 2 different complimentary hypnosis trainings. After becoming certified in Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique training from Cannon Academy, I promptly enrolled in the world-renowned Hypnosis Motivation Institute. This was the first school of Hypnotherapy to achieve National Accreditation through the U.S Department of Education and is often referred to as the “Harvard of Hypnotherapy” and boasts quite a rigorous training in order to complete and graduate from their program.
Being an educator for most of my adult life prior to working as a Hypnotherapist, I immediately knew this was the program I wanted to commit myself to.
I have enjoyed continued education in my field on a variety of specialized topics to broaden my scope and specializations within my practice.
All of this varied education allows me to help people untangle themselves from limiting beliefs and unwanted behaviors or habits that have had them stuck for years. As a result, I’ve been able to create a practice which allows clients to dive deep into core issues and limiting beliefs in a safe and gentle way without re-traumatizing them.
My areas of expertise are Fears, Phobias, PTSD release, Anxiety, and Childhood trauma. This type of work allows the Subconscious mind to gently release toxic beliefs and behaviors therefore allowing people to overcome things which before, seemed insurmountable.
It’s quite remarkable really, and I’m still blown away at how quickly these inner shifts happen!
One of the programs I’m proudest of is my Inner Child Series. Using hypnosis, I’m able to serve people who’ve suffered from a varying degrees of childhood trauma, neglect or abandonment. We are able to connect with and heal the “child within” without causing any more suffering and help them build deep feelings of self-worth and confidence where before, it was lacking. I’m often told that by using hypnosis, that it’s the most tangible way to truly experience self love and they’re able to do months’ worth of inner work in just a few sessions. It’s such a pleasure to offer this kind of support to others who’ve suffered for years with unresolved trauma.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
I would say that for me, the best sources of new clients are definitely world of mouth, Google Adwords and then of course my Google business page with my reviews on it. I would suggest that any small business set up and take advantage of Google Adwords- it’s a little challenging to get it started, but well worth it in the end! Often Adwords will give you a incentive to use them, so try to find and use that to get some free advertising. Also, with your Google business page, be sure to link it to all of your social media including your webpage. I’ve had so many new clients say the reason they reached out was because of my reviews.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Since we live in the digital age, I’d encourage small business owners to take full advantage of that, especially in the area of Zoom trainings and podcasts. There are endless opportunities to gain helpful insights by diving into those resources that inspire and educate you as well as giving you countless leads which will continue to offer more helpful information. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve listened to a podcast or zoom meeting where other resources were mentioned, which ended up offering a goldmine of other resources.
