We were lucky to catch up with Deanna Giulietti recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Deanna thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?
Social Media has CHANGED my life.
I manage my own social media platforms and have amassed a following from 0 to over 2 million and growing. I am on TikTok and Instagram and YouTube!
My advice to anyone interested in a social media career or looking to use social media to help their business is to get started NOW.
Start posting and start sharing your business with the world. There are so many people out there looking for what you and your business have to offer – so start sharing & stay consistent!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Deanna Giulietti and I had to make a strong pivot in my career, as many did, throughout the pandemic. I started investing in myself. I started posting videos online every day to feel less alone in the isolating time of 2020. I was able to build a community from my consistent posting schedule and amassed a following of over 2 million friends honestly.
I am authentically myself. I make videos about loving exactly who I am and it inspires people to feel that way about themselves. My daily positive affirmations really connected with my audience and I was able to turn it into a business. I sell 30 days of affirmations each month! They are reminders on how to talk positively to yourself everyday.
After all this is YOUR life… we are all just living in it.
Since becoming an internet personality I have been in movies, webseries, and I have a monthly residency at RISENY where you can catch me performing on the building in times square.
Sharing myself with the world through social media has truly changed my life. I can only recommend you get started!
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
When the pandemic started in 2020 I lost my job performing in Jersey Boys the musical. I had to pack up all my things and move back home with my parents. Broadway had shut down and there was nothing to do but wait.
I ended up joining my father’s construction business which is VASTLY different from performing on a stage every night.
I had to pivot, for my sanity. I would work construction all day with my father and I would create all night.
9-5 I was sanding and painting cabinets and from 5-12am midnight I was making videos that I could post on the silly little TikTok everyone was talking about.
After about four months of posting 9 times a day I had built a following of over 50,000 followers. I started to receive brand deals and my following continued to grow. I finally quit my dad’s business about a year later and fully had created a business of my own.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Just start posting. In the beginning I was posting 9 times a day. I would go back and see out of the 9 videos I made which got the most views?
Was it a video about my business? Was it a trending sound? Was it a video of my fashion?
Then I would take note of the data and make 9 more videos the next day more aligned with what my audience wanted from me.
It is all a numbers game. You have to start somewhere and my advice is start now. Make the video, share your craft, and start seeing major life changing results with your business.
