DeAngela, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?

DeeDee’s – My nickname is DeeDee. The company is inspired by my personal self-care journey and I desire to provide effective skincare products for my customers. I aim to offer customers comfort and assurance that their skincare needs are being met with quality and care. Butter – In my business, I prioritize the use of high-quality natural butters in over 80% of my collection. These butters provide multi-nutrient components that moisturize, nourish, and protect the skin. Bar – Apart of my business is to cater to individualism and diverse needs by providing a bar of raw plant-based ingredients such as butters, clays, and carrier oils.

DeAngela, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I have a strong passion for skincare. Back in 2015, I made a commitment to prioritize my skin by using high-quality and effective ingredients consistently as a part of my self-care routine. My entepreneurial journey evolved from local pop-ups, to Etsy, and now I have a storefront.

DeeDee’s Butter Bar’s mission is to provide high-quality, all-natural skincare products that enhance the natural beauty and health of our customers’ skin. Our goal is to empower our customers to feel confident and beautiful in their own skin. With innovation, empathy, and a dedication to excellence, we strive to be the go-to source for all-natural skincare solutions that bring out the best in your skin.

DeeDee’s Butter Bar provides custom plant-based skincare, self-care tools, and both in-store and online. Our Service Bar and workshops offers a unique experience tailored to each individual’s needs and preferences. Our Signature Whipped Body Butters are a favorite among Butterd Baes (our most loyal customers). This nutrient-rich blend has a fluffy texture that melts into the skin, leaving it soft, hydrated, and glowing. The best part is that it can be customized to your liking, making it the perfect all-year moisturizer.

Reflecting on the past, I take pride in persevering and positively impacting many people’s lives as a supportive and informative guide throughout their skincare journey.

Can you talk to us about manufacturing? How’d you figure it all out? We’d love to hear the story.

I began in my kitchen with a handheld blender and a handful of natural ingredients. Initially, I conducted extensive online research and encountered some trial and error. However, I have now perfected my whipped body butter and expanded my business to include several items. My collection is now known as My Signature Collection. To ensure top-notch quality for my customers, I produce our signature collection in-house, in small batches, with great care and attention to detail. In addition, I provide an assortment of self-care products from small businesses based in the US and locally.

Does your business have multiple or supplementary revenue streams (like a ATM machine at a barbershop, etc)?

DeeDee’s Butter Bar generates revenue through various channels, such as sales from our plant-based skincare line and selfcare products, hosting workshops and market popups, offering wholesale options, and consignment sales in my storefront.
