Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Deandria Simpson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Deandria, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with talking about how you serve the underserved, because in our view this is one of the most important things the small business community does for society – by serving those who the giant corporations ignore, small business helps create a more inclusive and just world for all of us.
Yes
• Underserved community:
First-time homebuyers, individuals with credit challenges, or families in underrepresented areas.
• Why it matters:
Homeownership can be a significant stepping stone to generational wealth, stability, and community building. However, these groups often face barriers like lack of access to resources, misinformation, or systemic inequities in the housing market.
• How your brand serves them:
My journey from the mortgage industry to real estate positioned me as an expert in bridging the gap for these communities, whether through education, personalized support, or advocating for my clients.

Deandria, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a Realtor who found my passion for helping people achieve homeownership after more than a decade in the mortgage industry. My journey into real estate began in 2019, just before the pandemic, after experiencing several layoffs that forced me to rethink my career path. I’d always loved the idea of being directly involved in helping families secure their dream homes, so I took a leap of faith and became a Realtor.
The transition wasn’t easy—I spent my first two years building my knowledge, growing my network, and learning the ins and outs of the industry. In 2022, I committed to real estate full-time, joining an incredible team that shares my values. That year, I closed 24 transactions and received several awards recognizing my dedication to my clients and my craft. In 2023, I was honored to be named one of DMagazine’s Best of Dallas Realtors, a milestone that reflects both my hard work and my clients’ trust.
Today, I’m part of a thriving team of women, and I focus on helping families—especially first-time homebuyers and those who may feel overwhelmed by the process—achieve their goals of homeownership. I provide comprehensive services, from finding the right property to navigating complex negotiations and ensuring a smooth closing process.
What sets me apart is my ability to empathize with my clients while leveraging my mortgage industry background to educate and empower them. I take pride in being a trusted guide, simplifying what can often feel like an intimidating journey, and celebrating alongside my clients as they step into the next chapter of their lives.
I want potential clients to know that my work is about more than just buying and selling homes—it’s about creating lasting relationships and being a resource they can count on. Whether it’s helping a young family purchase their first home or assisting seasoned buyers in finding their dream property, I’m here to make the process as seamless and enjoyable as possible.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients for me has been a combination of referrals and consistent relationship-building. My business thrives on the trust and confidence of the people I’ve worked with, and I’m fortunate that satisfied clients often recommend me to their friends, family, and colleagues.
In addition to referrals, my efforts in networking and staying active in my community have been invaluable. I focus on building genuine relationships, whether through social media, local events, or simply staying in touch with my sphere of influence. Sharing educational content and market insights has also helped position me as a go-to resource for people considering buying or selling their homes.
What really sets this approach apart is that it’s not just about transactions—it’s about creating lasting relationships and a strong reputation for being trustworthy, knowledgeable, and approachable.

Have you ever had to pivot?
In 2024, I found myself at a pivotal moment in my real estate career. After a successful run with my previous team, I realized that in order to continue growing and serving my clients effectively, I needed to make a significant change. Switching real estate teams was not an easy decision—it required me to step back, reassess my goals, and revamp the way I approached my business.
I had to rebuild my systems, reestablish my brand, and take full ownership of my client experience from start to finish. It was a challenging time, but it pushed me to grow in ways I hadn’t expected. I refined my marketing strategy, deepened my client relationships, and focused on delivering even more personalized and exceptional service.
Looking back, that decision was a turning point. It reminded me of the importance of adaptability and trusting myself to make tough choices for the greater good. Today, I’m part of an incredible team of like-minded professionals who inspire and support me daily, and my business is thriving in ways I never imagined.
This experience reinforced the idea that growth often comes from discomfort. It’s a lesson I now carry with me, not just in my business, but in how I guide my clients through their own transitions and big decisions.
