Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Deandre Steward. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, DeAndre thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.
What makes us different from the rest of the corporate and industry standard is we do a lot of collaborations and partnerships it’s not only us, but to grow the community around us. We believe that the more you help others, the more your business can grow. we partner with different organizations and companies like (N.A.S.M) for fitness trainers to gain real world experience at our facility to potentially get hired at another gym, or having an internship program and partnering with local schools to give them work experience an help build their skills in a fitness facility. we provide services/resources to help people in the community, or local fitness businesses grow
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Daygo performance was formed by two people Bryce Calloway and De’Andre Steward we formed a performance by combining their two fitness businesses of Stews Performance and Daygo Built. We provide weight, loss services, strength conditioning services, recovery, nutrition, and overall health and wellness at our facility and we try to provide the best services by working with qualified trainers and recovery specialist and having them provide their services at our facility we provide a fun and comfortable environment for people to reach their fitness and health goals, but also pushing them past their comfortable limit enough to change their lifestyle.
Have you ever had to pivot?
We had to pivot in our business when we first started by offering services we didn’t know if people wanted or not. We tried to provide group fitness classes that just did not go well so we had to change our approach and focus more on getting people to a trainer or recovery specialist of their choice and offering gym memberships for people to just come in and do their own workouts
How’d you meet your business partner?
I first met Bryce my sophomore year in high school when he has just graduated college and was really stepping into the fitness training environment by becoming our new strength and conditioning football coach after asking him on how I can improve my strength and conditioning he introduced me to his private gym facility, where he trains his clients. after training with Bryce at his facility, I realize I wanted to do this as a career so I started to learn from him and he taught me the steps on how to get certified how to network how to build my clientele and how to make programs and from there, he has just been guiding me and helping me grow my business to where we decided to work together and start a new foundation.
