My Leap of Faith into Real Estate

When my husband encouraged me to follow my dream of becoming a Realtor, we took a leap of faith—right in the middle of the market crash. It was terrifying. We had a senior in high school, an eleven-year-old, and a newborn, and every decision felt uncertain. But through hard work, determination, and his unwavering belief in me, we pushed forward. Nearly two decades later, I’m proud to be a top producer at one of the leading real estate companies in Northwest Arkansas. Our journey wasn’t easy, but it shaped the passion and resilience I bring to my business every single day.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

After working in the corporate world with JB Hunt and Walmart, I was searching for a career that offered flexibility and allowed me to spend more time with my family. Real estate seemed like the perfect fit — though I quickly learned it was far from easy, it became my true calling.

As a native Arkansan who has lived in Northwest Arkansas for over 30 years, I bring deep local knowledge and nearly two decades of experience helping clients buy, sell, and invest with confidence. My focus has always been on relationships, not transactions. I listen, guide, and ensure my clients feel supported and cared for every step of the way.

Now, as an Executive Broker, I not only help clients find where they want to live, work, and play — I also mentor fellow agents to provide that same trusted level of service. To me, there’s no greater compliment than a referral from a past client who knows I’ll always have their best interest at heart.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

Starting a small plant business with my family has been one of the most rewarding decisions we’ve made. We set up twice a year at Vintage Market Days, blending my love for Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate with a shared passion for plants, design, and connecting with people.

This venture has allowed me to merge two worlds I love — homes and nature — while creating something meaningful with my parents, husband, and daughter. It keeps me grounded, curious, and constantly learning from the wonderful people we meet.

Balancing both businesses takes resilience and creativity, but the energy, joy, and heartfelt compliments from clients and customers make every bit of it worth it. I’m endlessly grateful for the support of my family and for the opportunity to do what I love — helping people make their spaces, and their lives, a little more beautiful. 🌿🏡

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

I had to unlearn taking things personally — realizing not every bit of frustration, anger, or disappointment during a transaction is directed at me. Buying, selling, or investing in real estate involves major life changes and significant money, which naturally brings stress and emotion. My role is to be the calm in the storm — the peacemaker, problem-solver, and steady hand that diffuses tension and keeps everyone focused on solutions.

Over time, I’ve learned that not every challenge needs to be shared in real time. Instead, take action, resolve the issue, and then communicate the outcome. That’s how trust is built.

Owning a business — especially with family — has taught me that clear expectations and communication from the start are everything. The same applies to real estate: set expectations early, educate your clients upfront, and guide them through the process. People don’t know what they don’t know — and it’s our job to make sure they feel informed, confident, and supported every step of the way.
