Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dean Hall. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Dean , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today One deeply underappreciated facet of being an entrepreneur or creative is the kind of crazy stuff that happens from time to time. It could be anything from a disgruntled client attacking an employee or waking up to find out a celebrity gave you a shoutout on TikTok – the sudden, unexpected hits (both positive and negative) make the profession both exhilarating and exhausting. Can you share one of your craziest stories?
Soooo while battling the flu, I boarded a flight from Los Angeles to New York, tasked with styling a prominent TV personality for Fashion Week and a series of press interviews. The pressure was immense, especially with VH1 emphasizing the importance of delivering standout looks that would capture media attention and elevate their brand. Despite my physical discomfort, the adrenaline of Fashion Week and the opportunity to influence trends kept me motivated.
Upon arrival, the whirlwind of fittings, last-minute alterations, and coordinating with designers intensified. Each day presented new challenges, from unexpected wardrobe malfunctions to tight schedules, all under the watchful eyes of network executives. Yet, amidst the chaos, I thrived on the creative process and the fast-paced environment. Seeing my client grace the red carpet and dominate interviews in ensembles we curated made every sleepless night worthwhile. The blend of high stakes and fashion fervor reaffirmed my passion for the industry, making me cherish every moment of the experience. The phrase what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger could not be more applicable!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

to me
Embarking on my journey as an image consultant, I began by organizing clients’ closets, transforming cluttered spaces into curated wardrobes that reflected their personal styles. This foundational work not only enhanced their daily dressing experiences but also laid the groundwork for my expanding expertise. Recognizing a growing need for personalized fashion guidance, I ventured into personal shopping, bringing tailored clothing selections directly to clients’ homes. This in-home service offered unparalleled convenience, allowing clients to explore new styles without the hassle of store visits, thereby preserving their valuable time—a commodity one can never reclaim. As my reputation grew, so did the scope of my clientele. I had the privilege of styling television personalities, contributing to editorial spreads, and collaborating on advertising campaigns. What truly sets my services apart is the continuous education I provide during each appointment. I believe that empowering clients with knowledge about fashion choices, body silhouettes, and current trends enables them to make informed decisions, fostering confidence in their personal style. This educational approach ensures that clients not only look their best but also understand the nuances of styling, making the process both transformative and enlightening.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source for me sourcing new clients has been word of mouth. I’ve been very fortunate that my clients have been my biggest advocates and share nothing but wonderful praises to all who will listen.
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Earlier in my career I wish there were more internship opportunities available. It was tough having to build the plane while flying it, but I’ve learned so many valuable lessons.
