We were lucky to catch up with Db Gib recently and have shared our conversation below.

Db, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?

I honestly used to freestyle growing up but people around me that’s close to me growing up always told me I should go in the studio time after time of hearing my music because they say it’s very different and people would mess with it that was over like 3-4 yrs ago and since then people still tell me that to this day I started in the studio last year but this year I went more into it with the music lifestyle I done went to 3 showcases this year in ATL been in multiple blogs and articles from there and Dallas Texas and made music videos in Miami south beach Fl , Gainesville Fl, ATL and my hometown lake city Fl I’m planning on shooting another one next month once I get settled I been taking care of me 1st lately tho and just going into studios making songs still for now tho I still have them showcases event promoters wanting me to come til this day it really helps a lot connecting with them making networks through my music

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I’m a very genuine person I don’t like to be crossed or taking advantage of and I stay to myself to stay out of the problems I don’t need I don’t like making many Features only because my music may not be the same or because I don’t know them like that to put their lyrics with mine and people change so I don’t have time to deal with people I don’t mess with or people to be cool with me to get clout off my fame

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

It’s the people coming to me in public realizing I make music makes me go harder and people actually seeing how far it’s taking me with building my confidence up I’m tryna get rich off this music shit fr tho tryna make dreams my one brother couldn’t make to make it happen fr and my momma even be watching my videos make it even better seeing her son enjoying life

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

Not to show too much love when going up people try to take advantage of that and doing shit for free because I know them not everyone deserve your access in your journey when you make it no matter how long you know or knew them people be plotting and sneaking to pray down on you fr behind your back
