We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dawn West a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Dawn, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear your thoughts about making remote work effective.
Remote work or wifi money as I like to refer to it has become the new wave. I’ve been able to not only write an ebook on the topic, I’ve also been successful in teaching others how to make money from anywhere with just their mobile phone. When the world shifted, it was time for us to shift as well,
Dawn, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hello, I am lifestyle Coach Dawn West. Thank you for this opportunity to allow people to get to know a little bit about who I am and what I do. Which is A LOT! Lol. Going into the pandemic, had anyone asked “What do you do?” My answer would have been simply, I’m an Author and coach. I am two times published in the Erotica genre. And my third publication is a self help guided journal reminding the reader the importance of the relationship they have with themselves. That is also the area in which I coached on. Although I spoke to both men and women via social media platforms, speaking engagements, and even my own talk show which I was blessed to tape out of Arizona, my target was always mostly women. If I could pour into them and tear down some of the walls that had been built, then that would help build happy and healthy relationships.
I hosted events locally at the time in Atlanta, spoke at other events when invited, and traveled to do book signing and speaking engagements. Which is why when the pandemic hit and we went into lock down, saying I was shook was an understatement. I was scheduled to travel to Chicago that very weekend. Basically, if I wasn’t moving I wasn’t making money.
A few days into the pandemic, an opportunity re-emerged to join a health and wellness business. Previously I had declined because I couldn’t see how I could make it fit into my life at the time. Well being locked down I thought no time better than the present. Initially I started my home based business with Total Life Changes simply to earn some extra money selling products that the company would dropship for me. As time went on and people watched my own personal progress with taking the products and showing a substantial weight loss, they decided to join me in business also. My team began to grow, and now my coaching had taken a different turn. Things were going well. I had began to make an income that would sustain me with just the use of my cell phone while never needing to leave the house.
While still in the midst of the pandemic, I traveled to Miami for my birthday at which time I decided that it was time to make the move to water and palm trees that I had talked about making for so long. As it stood I could then make money from anywhere. I began putting the plan in motion, connected with a business associate that I’d previously done some work with and just like that an additional stream of income from promoting yacht charters and renting luxury cars again from just my cell phone was birthed.
I made the physical move to Miami in July of 2021. Where my brand has grown and I now teach others how to make multiple steams of income from their cellphones as well.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
To say that my journey thus far has been the easiest, especially with getting acclimated in a new city would not be the case. Although for such a short time I am growing and helping others grow as well. No matter how many challenges may arise, being able to leave a legacy for my Grandchildren, their children and so on is what keeps me motivated. I will be the generational curse breaker in my family.

Relationships in business are important. It is also very important to know when the relationship isn’t serving you or isn’t in alignment with who you are and what you offer as a business. I like to do things with integrity and I saw that wasn’t necessarily the case in a situation that I was a part of, therefore I quickly removed myself. I continued on to build business relationships in the luxury sector and I now have several clients and connections to yachts, jets, cars, as well as jetski excursions. And with each charter a new returning client or referral is now made. Instead of tapping out when things didn’t look good with the person I was previously working with, I kept going because I know my own potential. Never let what someone else brings to the table be the only thing you have to eat!
