We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dawn Higgins a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Dawn, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My mission as a photographer has been to learn and grow and capture memories along the way.

Dawn, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
For me, photography is more than just a service. It’s getting to know your clients, helping them portray what they would like to share about themselves with the world, and capturing them in this moment of their journey I want to help you share your legacy.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building my social media brand is key to meeting my perfect client. If I show what I am passionate about, Trust the algorithm and they will come and together we will make some creative, artistic magic.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
On social media, consistency is key your audience wants to see who you are and how they can connect with you. When you show your audience that you appreciate them, they show you the same in return; having a loyal following is one of the essential parts of social media, so if you’re loyal to your fans and clientele, they will be loyal to you.
For me, personally showing a variety of behind-the-scenes, editing the actual photo shoot, the whole process brings people knowledge, and that knowledge allows them to decide how they would like to open up their minds to being photographed. We all want to be seen. It’s just hard to take that first step.
