Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dawn Bova. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Dawn , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
I have an unwavering passion for helping others embrace creativity and self-care.
I’m an intuitive artist, best selling author, nurse practitioner, and angel mom.
I am dedicated to helping others awaken brilliance after life’s darkest moments due to my own experiences of tremendous loss and grief, yet I am living a happy, joyous, and free life. My own personal experiences have given me a powerful understanding of the healing power of art and creativity.
Through my weekly podcast, “Catch Some SoulShine,” I share wisdom and tools to guide others on their journey towards a more fulfilling and empowered life.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I rekindled my love of creativity after three significant losses in my life. First my father when I was 20, later my son Bradley and “adopted” son Brian. It was a pivotal moment when my sister insisted I sit down and paint. Initially. I was resistant but with her urging I painted for two hours and felt a sense of ease and peace I hadn’t felt since my son died.
Prior to that time, stillness was filled with despair. I was busy, volunteering for organizations to end overdose, working full time, and available to help those in need 24/7. The one person who needed to most attention was me, and I neglected her.
Art became such a healing force in my life. I join artist groups, shifted my thinking toward one of gratitude and abundance, and people started buying my art. At that point, HeARTworkByDawn was born and I made the decision to pursue my dream of becoming a professional artist. I believe people are drawn to my work because of the energy and emotions they feel when seeing my work.
I have been a leader and change maker my entire life. It’s a part of me I cannot deny. So, in addition to my art career I started a podcast to help others awaken brilliance after life’s darkest moments called Catch Some SoulShine. I believe creative outlets are underutilized and yet hold tremendous power for healing.
I was invited to participate as a co-author in three books and they all became international best sellers. My purpose is crystal clear. I am here to lead others toward emotional empowerment so they too can lead a fulfilling life, no matter what they have encountered on this journey we call life. I have classes, memberships, and share tips on social media. What I give out to the world is returned to my 10 fold.
I’ve helped so many remove the clutter blocking them from the sunlight of the spirit. But perhaps my greatest achievement is the impact I’ve had on my granddaughter to unleash her artistic abilities and help her heal from the loss of her brother, my grandson, Willy. To watch the magic of art help heal a child is something I will alway treasure.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
As I mentioned I have experienced tremendous loss. I did not discuss the most recent tragedy in my life. My youngest grandson, Willy died at the babysitters prior to his 2nd birthday. It was yet another period of darkness. However, with the tools of self care, creativity, and radical self-love. I have let go of any resentment and have forgiveness toward his caregiver. There is no room in my heart for resentment…it’s like drinking poison and expecting someone else to suffer. Once again, I painted my way through that dark period.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
People know, like, and trust me. As a leader in the recovery movement and my local community I have made connections locally and worldwide. I believe authenticity is the very best marketing strategy. I do not apologize for my convictions and share heartfelt stories about my life experiences, my art, in my writing, and while speaking to groups. It is also important to let go of fear or ego so you can put yourself in front of groups and express your self freely in media outlets.
