We recently connected with DaVyne Truth and have shared our conversation below.
DaVyne, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Have you signed with an agent or manager? Why or why not?
I don’t have a traditional agent, but I am represented by multiple agencies I’ve signed deals with, including Koze Music, APM, Anacrusis Songs, Madden Flow Entertainment, What Up Pitches, Morris & Young, Audio Vybez, earWAV, and many more.
I’ve built strong relationships with top sync agencies, music libraries, and supervisors who consistently place my music in TV, film, and ads. My opportunities come from a combination of direct outreach, strategic networking, and letting the quality of my work speak for itself.
Some of these agencies came through industry connections, while others discovered me through my placements, online presence, and the consistency of my catalog. I chose to work with them because they align with my vision and recognize my ability to deliver high-quality, sync-ready music quickly and efficiently.
They chose to work with me not only because of my strong work ethic, versatility, and ability to create music that fits the moment—whether it’s high-energy stadium anthems, expressive Electronic Pop, cinematic tension cues, or bold, confident hip-hop records—but also because of the energy I bring to every interaction. I’ve often been told that my personality is unique, my presence is magnetic, and my energy is contagious—qualities that naturally open doors and create lasting connections.
I have a reputation for delivering on time, taking direction well, and bringing a fresh, dynamic sound that elevates their projects. My track record with major networks like STARZ, VH1, BET, ABC, Peacock, and WNBA proves that my music connects with audiences, and I continue to push myself creatively to expand my placements and impact.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m DaVyne Truth, a powerhouse sync artist, producer, mixing engineer, and composer who has built a thriving career in sync licensing and music production. Music has been my passion and purpose since childhood, and despite growing up in the foster care system, I never let my circumstances define me—I turned to music as my outlet and built my own lane in the industry. Over the years, I’ve honed my self-taught craft in songwriting, engineering, and production, developing a signature sound that blends raw emotion, high-energy anthems, cinematic textures, and bold, confident lyricism.
I got into the music business through relentless hustle, networking, and staying ready for every opportunity. My partnerships with agencies have allowed my music to be placed in TV, film, and commercials on major platforms like STARZ, ESPN, MTV, TVOne, VH1, Bravo, ABC, WNBA, Peacock TV, TLC, CW, TUBI, BET, WE TV and many more. My work spans a wide range of genres, from stadium-ready anthems and expressive Electronic Pop to cinematic tension cues and powerful hip-hop records.
Beyond creating music, I solve a crucial problem for my clients—I provide high-quality, sync-ready tracks that elevate their projects and connect with audiences. Whether it’s a TV network looking for an energetic theme song, a brand needing an impactful ad track, or a film requiring the perfect emotional underscore, I deliver music that enhances the story and leaves a lasting impression. My ability to adapt, create and deliver quickly, and maintain industry-standard quality has made me a go-to for supervisors and agencies looking for fresh, dynamic sound.
What sets me apart is my work ethic, quick turn arounds, my versatility, and my energy—both in music and in life. I’ve been told that my personality is magnetic, my presence is undeniable, and my passion is contagious. This energy carries into every song I create and every connection I make. I pride myself on delivering on time, understanding the nuances of sync placements, and always pushing myself to evolve creatively.
I also take pride in my education and commitment to excellence. I graduated from Full Sail University as valedictorian with a 4.0 GPA, further solidifying my expertise in music production and engineering. My education gave me the technical foundation to match my creative instincts and understandng of music theory allowing me to refine my sound and elevate the quality of my work.
One of my proudest accomplishments is seeing my music placed on major networks and knowing that my sound is reaching millions. Coming from where I started, every placement is a reminder of how far I’ve come and a testament to the power of resilience and dedication.
For potential clients, followers, and fans, I want them to know that DaVyne Truth is more than just music—I’m about impact. I create records that move people, whether it’s through a song that gets a stadium hyped, a track that elevates a commercial, or a record that resonates on a personal level. I’m here to bring authenticity, energy, and undeniable quality to everything I do, and I’m only getting started.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
One of the biggest things non-creatives struggle to understand about my journey is the level of sacrifice it takes to build a sustainable career in this industry. While others were going out, socializing, or indulging in what they considered fun, I had to lock in and disappear to set my foundation. Balancing music, college, and raising my son meant that my time wasn’t mine to waste—I had to be strategic, disciplined, and willing to miss out on temporary moments to create something lasting.
A lot of people don’t realize that being a creative isn’t just about talent—it’s about consistency, execution, and mental endurance. My brain is constantly working, analyzing, creating, and refining. After long days of pouring everything into my craft, I often need solitude to recharge. But non-creatives don’t always get that. They see the final product—the placements, the success—but they don’t see the countless hours of work behind it, the sleepless nights, or the moments of isolation required to bring it all to life.
The hardest part was sacrificing time with family and friends. I know people may have felt like I wasn’t around much, but it was necessary. I had to build something real—not just for myself, but for my son. Living comfortably off of my craft, creating a legacy, and providing a better future was always the goal. And I knew that to get there, I couldn’t afford to do what everyone else was doing.
So to anyone who doesn’t understand the grind, just know that this life demands more than most people are willing to give. But for those who do get it—the ones who push through, who sacrifice, who embrace the solitude and the struggle—it’s worth it. Because we’re not just working; we’re building something that will outlast us.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a sync artist and creative is seeing my music find a home in TV, film, and ads—where it becomes part of a larger story and reaches audiences in ways I never could on my own. Knowing that something I created in my own space can enhance a scene, elevate an emotion, or bring energy to a moment is powerful.
Beyond that, it’s about freedom—being able to make a living doing what I love, on my own terms. Every placement is a direct result of my hard work, strategy, and creativity. I sacrificed time, sleep, and social moments to build this career, and now I’m able to provide for myself and my son through my passion. That alone makes every challenge worth it.
There’s also something special about seeing my music move through the world, knowing that it’s being heard by millions. Sync gives my art longevity—it’s not just a song; it’s an experience that lives on screen. That kind of impact is what keeps me pushing forward.
