Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to David Wright. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi David, thanks for joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
The most difficult risk for most is taking a risk…The most difficult risk for me is believing it’s possible. Let me explain….It’s easier for most to take a risk with no belief of success. Before I ruminate on an idea or concept, formulate a strategy, pull it from my mind into reality….Before all of that, the first thing I do is attach belief to the idea. I believed I could create visuals like some of my favorite creators…Then I believed I could get the money to purchase the equipment that could create it. I believed I could learn the cinematic process and learn how to touch people’s senses through various forms like lighting, audio and camera movement…
THE MOST IMPORTANT RISK TO TAKE IS TO BELIEVE! I BELIEVED I COULD FIRST!
It’s the biggest risk and the smallest. It’s big because I have to make it again daily. It’s doesn’t look big because it doesn’t dominate like any other choice or decision but the risk to believe is prevalent in every decision I make.
Once I have made the decision to believe, everything else becomes mitigated for success. Once I believe I can, it attracts success to me…Wait, I can feel your belief stirring so let me stop here before I speak you into your own belief.
Lets pose this question…WHAT IS RISK?
Google says: Risk = a situation involving exposure to danger; possibility; chance; likelihood; prospect
I like the first definition because we are all wired to mitigate risk to protect ourselves from danger. This behavior and process is inherent to all of us as human beings. So then, we can trace many of our behaviors and choices and narrow many of them down to decisions based on risk. Crazy right?
Hopefully I don’t get in trouble for saying this ( I probably will) Everything you desire and specifically the life you desire to live lives outside of your safe space (ie comfort zone) and the area that ‘inner you’ protects. If you want to win BIG, you have to challenge your balance and take the most difficult risk of all….The risk to believe that you actually can do it….The doors of the church are open……Would there be one? (thats a baptist church reference…
keep following me, you’ll love it here, I promise!)

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Allow me to reintroduce myself, my name is DAVE (insert Jay Z reference)…My name is David Wright and I tell digital stories. Ive always been amazed as I travel work and grow that every human experience is relative. All of our experiences are comparable and interconnected. Unfortunately, many of us, because we are in our own lane and trying to make it in the world, we typically dont have time to look at anyone else’s journey. Thats why I believe God placed me here.
I’ve got one job in this world. To help the world see that we aren’t so different and to tell each others stories in a way that unites us together in one human experience. In business that means that I have the ability to tell your brand story in a way that synergizes your audience with the products and services that you offer. In ministry and corporately, it means that I use spoken word and preaching to energize and give people the tools they need to be more productive and tap into the best version of yourself.
As a digital storyteller, we use various technologies and techniques to bring your story from idea to conception. This includes but isn’t limited to cinematic lighting, audio, camera movement, and even motion graphics, all to captivate the appropriate senses and connect with your audience. What sets Allwright Media apart is that our technique is real, raw, and authentic, just like you.
We have worked and created content for every walk of life from political campaigns (Atlanta had a mayor named Keshia) commercials and content for small business owners, short films, weddings, live events, video systems for Houses of Worship and SO MUCH MORE.
If there’s anything you need done to/with a video, we do it.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is creating….
I literally get paid to pull things out of your imagination and make them real. How cool is that?!

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
Bare with me….
Everyone is a creative. Creativity exists on a spectrum. Some exhibit characteristics differently than others. One of my sisters is an Admin within an educational space and is very structured in her process compared to me. We clash when we collaborate at times because my “creative” and hers operate differently….It makes her no less creative. It’s not like creativity skipped a generation and landed on me. It just means our critical process and expression is different.
This is what all people need to know about your creative journey. It’s different. BUT……there is one common thread in my opinion. In order to figure out what your creativity looks like, you have to embrace the fact that you are creative and that your creative may look different than anyone else.
