We were lucky to catch up with David Wilson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, David thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?
I’m super happy being my own boss. I used to work for people and no matter how much extra work or savings I did for them, it never amounted to anything other then pitiful raises. Working for someone else made me realize I was in a cage. Being my own boss I’m free, but with that freedom comes risk. I could fail and ruin my life. But its worth it knowing that I get 100% of everything I put into my business and its all on me.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I have a online auction house that specializes in collectibles. My brother and I started it one day, at first it was just selling things on Ebay, but as time went on and we grew we knew we wanted to get away from ebay. Because ebay was our boss, and they dictated how our future would be. So we started our own platform.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I knew in this day that social media is very important to grow your business. So I started a Youtube channel which is one of the best decisions I’ve made for my business. I helped me connect with my current customers and find new ones. To this day it is about 75% of our newly generated customers.

You just got to do it, that is the hardest part. Just start and try to critique yourself ever post on how it can be better
