We caught up with the brilliant and insightful David Satori a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, David thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
The most meaningful project i’ve worked on is co founding the non profit project – SunRise Studios Collective. SunRise Studios Collective promotes artistic creativity, cultural preservation, and regenerative lifestyles through a global network of community-based multi-media studios. We have started over 8 studios in 5 countries and helped over 120 artists and community members.
This is meaningful work for me because i’ve been deeply inspired by traditional music from around the world and this feels like an opportunity to give back and help the next generation of artists create.

David , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’ve been a musician and recording artist since the age of 13. I got my first 4 track recorder when I was 13 and haven’t stopped making music. I’ve been fortunate enough to travel the world and tour with multiple bands. I co founded the Oakland CA based bands Beats Antique and Dirtwire and have released over 20 albums. I’ve taken a hiatus from touring with the bands but still producing music with them and focusing on my family and my solo career. You can check my new music on spotify and other streaming platforms under David Satori

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
I believe the best way to support artists is to buy their music and merch and attend their shows and share with your community. It’s harder than ever to make a living off recorded music so the more we share and help spread the word the more we can help each artist.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
The mission that is driving me comes down to inspiration. Following my inspiration tends to lead me into collaboration. I love collaborating with lots of different artists from around the world. This opens up doors to sounds i never would have imagined by myself. Music is a conversation and i love having it with artists who inspire me.
