We recently connected with DAVID SARGSYAN and have shared our conversation below.

DAVID, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?

I knew that I wanted to pursue a creative artist path since I was a kid. Being a part of the film world, and especially acting, was what I wanted to do since I was 6 years old. This talent came to me naturally. I organized performances with my toys and did voice-overs for the different characters. I had all the creativity in the world to create stories. I remember when my first-grade teacher asked the class what we wanted to become when we grew up, my answer was to be an actor, which really surprised her, since nobody else said something similar.

Between the ages of 13 and 17, I studied at the Dance Academy. I was a good dancer, but all the teachers were especially impressed with my acting skills and always assigned unique dance performances and characters to me. Later, after I started getting into the professional world of film and acting, I became interested in filmmaking, specifically producing, directing, and writing. I always wanted to pursue my passion at a professional level, and since I was 19 years old, I have been doing it professionally.

DAVID, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I am a professional actor and filmmaker. I was born and raised in Armenia and moved to the United States when I was 17. In Armenia, I studied performing arts, dance, and music. My initial plan was to apply to a university majoring in Acting, but after moving to Los Angeles, I became involved in theatrical and TV projects as a lead actor, and that’s when my acting career took off.

I also studied at the University of California, Irvine, where I earned a degree in Film and Media Studies. I have worked on numerous projects as an actor and beyond. I have contributed to the production of several short films, including “Dr. Antonio” and “Don’t Die Hard,” in which I also perform as an actor. My roles in films have garnered awards and nominations at international film festivals, including categories for best actor and best supporting actor.

As a filmmaker, I established “Boheme Film Productions,” which focuses on producing independent films. My production company also creates commercials, music videos, and other related production work. My ultimate goal is to produce a feature film in the near future, and I’m fortunate to have a dedicated team of passionate actors and filmmakers, supporting me on this journey.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

There are many rewarding aspects of being an artist or a creative individual. For example, creative expression allows you to share your own emotions and philosophy, or those of your characters, and it serves as a form of self-expression. Another aspect is that artists have the ability to impact others; it’s a unique opportunity for an individual to make a difference, teach, or convey a message to the world. I would also add a sense of fulfillment in pursuing one’s passion, as well as recognition and the prospect of leaving a lasting legacy for future generations. Additionally, there’s the invaluable aspect of forging connections and friendships. Being an artist or creative also opens the door to experiencing new things. As an actor, I relish the opportunity to immerse myself in the lives of my characters, granting me the ability to live multiple lives and gain unique experiences, essentially reliving their stories.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

My goal and mission have always been to leave a lasting legacy, whether through my characters or films. Film is a medium for storytelling, and stories have the power to make an impact. My mission is to create films that are profound and life-changing, influencing people. My goal is also to become one of the best in my profession and industry, and I work towards that every day, continuing until I achieve my objectives.
