We recently connected with David Potter and have shared our conversation below.
David, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I think im old enough to revisit my legacy but young enough to not understand what it means or what I have accomplished, or what it means to other people. But I want people to remember me as someone who lived his life to impress noone but himself. When doors didnt open, i built them myself. I had no issues both accepting and turning down the biggest offers from the biggest companies. I skip to the beat of my own drummer, i do what i want and i say what i want. I had the same goals since I was a baby, get into the combat sports industry. I’m not only am i in it, not only started my own business ehich our show fight world live and app is number #1 on Amazon’s Top 100 in sports fan news, not only featured on NBC, UFC and ESPN, not only breaking an all time record of 16 million viewers for a fight companion show, not only parlayed my combat sports career into 2 albums with a 3rd and final album December 21st, but when goals and my passions changed, especially when I got into finance, I put forth the same effort and passion until finally starting my own business, which has been profitable within 6 short months. I want to be remember for how I lived, and that is everything worth doing is worth overdoing, moderation is for cowards, and when im gone i will be called everything, who wasnt afraid to be himself without apology or caring if im either a good guy or villian in someones story, being a good person without needing the approval to feel like one or selling it, im okay being called anything, but noone will call me a coward.

David, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is David Potter, no relation to Harry. I have been a lifelong martial artist, former champion, and now do anything and everything in combat sports from on television to behind the scenes. I own Fight World Live which is #1 on Amazon’s Top 100. I own Dream Stage Investments which offer small business lending and personal lending solutions. I have loved combat sports my entire life, im often called a human Wikipedia, and I have loved finance since entering a company called bizfi in 2015. My work ethic is what separates me and makes me the best in both industries, also gives me the privilege of saying im the best without it being disputed even by my biggest critics. Im still that poor kid from emerson nj. I make six figures but I work like I make $0. I demand myself to deliver the best product in everything I do, I expect that of myself. My clients and supporters deserve it. And I expect that from everybody around me. The people I hire will either be inspired and elevated by how hard I work to raise their game or they will get left behind; but I came from nothing so I will stop for nothing, so I stay the course no matter whos behind me.
Consumer trust. Everybody knows me for delivering on promises and everything I give them is quality. Everybody can be assured whether new or old friends, will get the best from me. They give me their 1%, let me take care of the rest and earning the other 99% is inevitable.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I grew up poor, hated and abandoned by my own biological father, youngest of five, and odds i never signed up for stacked against me from the time I was born. I didnt ask my biological father to not only abandon me, but denying i was his son so he didnt have to pay money. But through hurt I learned resilience, my best performances always came when my back is against the wall and im not holding all the cards, then im flat out dangerous. I learned Undeniable strength and confidence through events in my life i had no choice but to be involved in. I learned to believe in myself even against impossible odds, that Im not bothered by bad situations, I was chosen to handle them for a reason, and it started with my biological father having to walk around for the rest of his life knowing he lost to a 2nd grader.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I dont have fans or customers. That’s bs. I have friends. I have family. And every friend gets treated with the same love I show all my friends. We talk sometimes without even sharing business, we will talk about life, we share memes, we add each other on social media. They arent dollar signs to me, I want them to have my trust as I earned theirs.
