Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to David Posey. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

David , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?

To be successful, one must have an unparalleled work ethic, ambition, drive, fortitude, and the desire to be the absolute best! I have always put 110% into everything that I set out to do. I do not believe in shortcuts, or settling for less than the best! I have poured my heart and soul into this industry, I truly believe in the passionate pursuit of building excellence. When our company meets with our clients, our number one priority is to take their vision and surpass all expectations. We make it our mission to take their dreams & or visions and turn them into reality. We love to be told that “something cannot be done” or “that’s impossible.” That’s when we truly set ourselves apart from the competition. In 2003 we constructed a custom home within a gated community on land that was deemed “too small to build on”, that home was published on the cover of a major publication. The home was approx. 3,500 square feet and even featured a custom pool! Success is a by-product of hard work & determination. Never be afraid to take chances or fail. Failure often leads to great success! Some of life’s greatest lessons come from early failures that morph into unbelievable success stories!

David , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I come from a construction family. My father has been in the construction sector for a half-century! So this career choice was somewhat of a right of passage for me. When I was younger, most kids were getting toys, I was getting tools! We initially began as a structural framing company in 1999. By 2003 we had 135 employees & were one of the largest structural framing companies in the industry. We decided in 2005 that it was time to step away from the framing sector & begin focusing on building & renovating under our own direction entirely. We custom design & build every project in-house here at Posey Contracting Group LLC. We take our business seriously & constantly strive to build the absolute best project each & every time we embark on a new build. We truly treat each home as if it were our own. Our work has been showcased on various fronts throughout the building industry over the years. We strive to keep Posey Contracting Group LLC. at the forefront of the building & renovating business. We are constantly looking for the latest & greatest building products & practices. Each day I look forward to the unique challenges the building industry presents. Whether it be a code interpretation, structural challenge, lot layout issue, design flaw, etc. The more challenging a situation, the better I truly perform. Challenges are what brings out the best in me. I use them as motivation to succeed. I need the challenges to keep sharp & motivated. Nowadays it seems like so many want to just get by or take the easy way. We need to be challenged to truly hone our craft.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

In the construction industry, the most important aspect is managing clients’ expectations. So often you hear horror stories of contractors taking a client’s money & disappearing, or leaving their home in shambles. Many contractors give false or misleading information such as unrealistic timelines, project allowances, & or provide ambiguous contracts, etc. We have always prided ourselves on providing the exact opposite to all of our clients. We would rather provide our clients with realistic project information so that in the long run we are able to deliver as promised. Full transparency is what sets us apart from the competition. We are always upfront & honest with our clients from the onset & manage their expectations to the absolute best of our abilities. Communication is very important in the building industry. We make it a point to provide unparalleled customer service to our clients. We stay in constant communication during the building or renovation phases. We are very responsive to emails, calls, texts, etc. This open dialogue is vital in helping avoid costly mistakes or miscommunications. Our clients are always very appreciative of our availability & willingness to help or advise whenever needed. This is the reason why so many of our clients are lifelong customers, & more importantly, become friends during & after the completion of their projects.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

Our reputation is very important to us. We have always strived for greatness & building perfection. We have built our brand on quality & most importantly our client’s word of mouth or referrals. The majority of projects we build are typically from a previous client’s referral. We are so humbled & appreciative of our clients. They are what makes our business so rewarding & fulfilling. Without our fantastic clients, we wouldn’t be where we are today. They have helped us establish a reputation as one of the very best building professionals in the industry. We have had the pleasure of owning & operating Posey Contracting Group LLC. for almost a quarter of a century! We have been truly blessed & have exceeded so many expectations over the years. And none of this would be possible without our beloved clients! They are the ones that have helped us to achieve our goals & pursue our dreams as well as theirs! Our client’s testimonies, & beliefs in us are what truly has helped us establish a reputation as one of the primer builders in the industry.
