We recently connected with David Malin and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, David thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Looking back at internships and apprenticeships can be interesting, because there is so much variety in people’s experiences – and often those experiences inform our own leadership style. Do you have an interesting story from that stage of your career that you can share with us?
The story of first meeting a Spiritual Healer in 1978, with whom I apprenticed for several years. As I have come full circle back to those roots.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I work with one’s energy field to assess the primary issue that one is dealing with in their life journey. I assess one’s auric field physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually, as well as one’s chakras on these same four levels. I work with a system of 12 chakras, incorporating important earth based chakras with the traditional ones. Through these spiritually based lens, I help people shift their beliefs and understanding to come into better alignment with the multidimensional aspects of their being for optimal health and well-being.
My first training was in 1977 in Polarity Therapy, then in Massage Therapy, then in Gestalt Therapy. I then went back to school finishing my undergraduate degree, then one in Physical Therapy and later in life back again for a Doctor of Divinity. During this time training and apprenticing with various healers from around the world. I have published in international journals, wrote a book, Embracing Change, been featured on national TV and taught extensively on several
continents.
Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
Yes, I would, for what I do and what I have to offer is a culmination of life long study crossing over many professions and disciplines. Life is a journey.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
To follow one’s heart, calling, wherever that may lead, as it is never where you think when you set off in your life’s journey.
Early in my career I pursued being a Dr. I came very close when doors closed and others opened. I know in my heart that my spirit would not have been free to express me and thus being fullfilled in all the ways that are important to me, that I know now, if I had taken on that role.
