We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful David Lonergan. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with David below.
David, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The mission of Triple Threat Transformation is deeply personal and stems from my own experiences as a Marine Corps veteran and the struggles I faced after leaving service. After years of neglecting my health—both physically and mentally—I hit a breaking point and decided to take back control of my life. Through disciplined movement, a shift in mindset, and unwavering belief in manifesting a better future, I was able to transform not only my body but my entire outlook on life. This journey showed me the power of fitness as a catalyst for change, especially for those who feel stuck or lost. Now, I’ve made it my purpose to guide others especially those starting their fitness journeys, to discover their own strength and potential. This mission matters to me because I’ve been there—I know how hard it is to take that first step, but I also know the life-changing results that come from committing to progress. My goal is to create a community where people feel supported, encouraged, and capable of achieving anything they set their minds to. This isn’t just about fitness—it’s about giving people their power back.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is David Lonergan, and I am a Marine Corps veteran turned fitness and nutrition coach, founder of Triple Threat Transformation. My journey into this industry began after my own personal struggles. After serving in the military and leading over 150 Marines, I faced a period of neglecting my physical and mental health. Years of fast food, alcohol, and stress had taken their toll, and I found myself at rock bottom. However, in 2020, I made a choice to take my life back. Through disciplined exercise, proper nutrition, and a positive mindset, I lost 30 pounds in three months and rediscovered my purpose.
I created Triple Threat Transformation to help others achieve what I did: a balanced approach to health and fitness through movement, mindset, and manifestation. My services include group kettlebell training, personalized one-on-one coaching, online fitness and nutrition programs, and even free veteran-specific fitness classes. I also host bi-monthly hikes to connect with the community, blending physical activity with camaraderie.
The main problem I solve for my clients is helping them achieve sustainable health and fitness, even with busy schedules or physical challenges. I specialize in working with individuals who want to lose weight, build lean muscle, and improve their mindset. For veterans, I offer a supportive environment where they can reclaim their strength and confidence.
What sets me apart is my personal experience. I know what it’s like to feel stuck, unhealthy, and lost, and I understand that transformation is about more than just physical fitness—it’s about mindset and belief in oneself. My approach is holistic, focusing not only on workouts but on nutrition, mental health, and building a supportive community.
I am most proud of the community I’ve built. Whether it’s veterans coming together to push past barriers or everyday individuals breaking through fitness plateaus, seeing lives change is what fuels my passion. I want my clients and followers to know that my brand isn’t just about fitness—it’s about creating a better, different, and magical experience that helps people take control of their lives and unlock their full potential.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn that people care about your goals like you do. You have your own goals, passions so you have to push yourself everyday even when no one else understands or cares. I used to get mad that I had no help but once I figured out that these are my dreams and goals not anyone else’s, I changed and became better.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Referrals and just being yourself with grinding everyday. If you are who you are you will attract people that want to be with you and follow you. Push your business everyday and at all times because you never know who needs your help.
