Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to David Kelber. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi David, thanks for joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
One of the meaningful project for me is “Kinto” which I have painted in Berlin. As a Georgian Queer artist, Kinto represents cultural identity of the Georgian LGBT society, and Berlin stands for the freedom and opportunity for many artists. Bringing Kinto to the European city means that our future is in Europe and it was very important for me to show my personal thoughts about the topic by using art.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
When I graduated from High school I was interested in Arts and creating something creative. For that reasons I studied in Tbilisi State Art Academy and became professional graphic designer/illustrator. It gave me chance to create my art not only physically but digital way as well.. After mastering an illustatration I wanted to make it bigger and greater in its best, mural was best way to express my ideas and started drawing on the walls of my hometown Tbilisi. Always when I was drawing, I prefered to create bigger paints and street art was a perfect fit for me. I like my art to be public, when im drawing on the walls, its visible for everyone and its shared to them as well.

How did you build your audience on social media?
So best thing about drawing on the walls is real connection to the public. When Im working on the wall, many people come by, take pictures and ask questions about my art. It brings peoples attention and I always share stickers of my art work with social media info on it, Its always good to promote yourself but not in the way to bother people, i think customized stickers work the best for me because every time I use those, engagement on my social media goes much higher.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Its really nice when I am drawing in the street and local people give me positive feedback and energy. It really makes the process less frustrating and much more comfortable. I enjoy with peoples attention and makes me feel good.
