We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful David Jimenez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with David below.
David, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
By throwing myself into the craft and jumping in the rabbit hole head first. What would have helped me, might have been trying home brewing prior to learning how to make the final product. The best skills I developed that were the most essential, has to be passion and determination. Obstacles that seem to be in my way has to be lack of experience and knowledge of the fine tune secrets.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I became enthralled in the world of Craft Beer. I was the main line of defense when it came to explaining to customers what these artists (Brewers) we creating behind the curtain.
It wasn’t just Bud Light or Blue Moon, it was something way more delicate, made with love and passion that had me hooked IMMEDIATELY! With this new knowledge of Craft Beer, I wanted to seek out as much knowledge as possible. The best way I could think of was to create a podcast so people can tune in to learn more about certain styles, ways to consume, etc.
Soon I would reach out and meet Brewmasters in the brewing world to hear their story through their passion. That ignited a fire within me! From Craft Beer to Distilled Spirits, I wanted to know all the artists behind the scenes. All these beautiful individuals within the Brewing, Distilling and other various fermentation fields had wonderful talent behind the scenes. They all are artists and all have stories to tell. I have now dedicated my platform to help be another mouthpiece for them and showcase their awesomeness!
Still a growing process, but I love talking to these incredible humans. All of them have now become new friends that, together, make our community a better place.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself by Joe Dispenza is a book that has recently changed the way I look at myself to help understand other individuals. Everyone has a story. Everyone has struggles and joys. We all feel like awe are alone at some point in our lives. However, this book helped me realized that once we look within, the playing field seems to be more even. We’re all in this together. If you see it and believe it, it can become a reality! Treat yourself with love and that beacon of light will shine to those who feel as they are in the dark.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I ask myself this same question on a weekly basis. My inside desire to be welcomed and loved has always been something I’ve strived to share with others. To me, nothing has been more meaningful than someone giving me their undivided time of day. If we think outside of the Planet Earth, the Universe seems so vast and infinite. The more I get lost in the space of the unknowing, the more I realize how small I am. Smaller than a grain of sand amongst the stars in the Galaxies. If I can assist in making someone feel like that grain of sand means more than the most precious Diamond in the world… doesn’t that help give that person a sense of meaning?! We are more than just another piece of the puzzle. We have gifts and a light that should be shared with to others. If we can all be on the same page, then maybe this dark world won’t feel so empty anymore. We all have a sense of want and desire. To me, love is the common key to connecting all of us and making this world a better place.
