Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to David Ha. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
David , appreciate you joining us today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
At an early age, my mom and dad modeled a life of service. My dad is a doctor and mom a nurse, and together they ran a successful private medical practice in NY for 25 years. Even after their retirement, they committed to a life of service as they are currently full time medical missionaries, living in Haiti. I’m thankful to learn from them, the value of having a posture of generosity.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I believe that what we do flows from who we are. And when we experience various traumas and stressors in our life, there is a chance we can internalize them and believe unhealthy narratives about ourself and the world. While learning coping skills and practical tools are important, I have learned that working through the core, root issues are where long-lasting healing takes place.
My areas of focus include: depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, trauma, family of origin issues, couples counseling, relational stressors, children/teen counseling, life transitions, grief, spiritual/identity issues, negative self-talk, challenges with boundary setting and religious trauma.
My previous work experiences include work with the Center for Integrative Counseling and Psychology, Recovery Resource Council, Buckner International, West Dallas Community School and contributions with Highland Park ISD.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I believe that having a posture of generosity is necessary in making lasting impact on the community. People need to know that you are present in providing value and service. And what sets you apart is the ability to provide that help with a high level of excellence and integrity.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
There are so many great resources out there on the topic of business but I would highly recommend Gateway business leaders. (https://kingdombusinessleaders.com/church/gateway) They take principles from the Bible and apply them practically to the context of business. I believe there is nothing more transformative in shaping our worldview about life and business than the Bible.
