Hi David , thanks for joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
First is perseverance. Having the will to overcome obstacles that challenge your way to your goals is one of the most important qualities to have. When faced with challenges, instead of seeing them as roadblocks, view them as opportunities to grow. This resilience allows you to adapt and keep moving forward.
Another key ingredient is a growth mindset. Believing you can learn and improve is crucial. While perseverance might not be for everyone, learning and growing is, so having a growth mindset puts you in the driver seat, on track to your goals.
Finally, there’s the importance of passion. When you’re fueled by a deep interest in what you’re doing, the journey becomes more fulfilling. This intrinsic motivation can be a wellspring of creativity and drive, propelling you towards your goals.
One thing to remember success is not the same for everyone, we all have different ideas of success. What one person sees as the pinnacle of achievement might leave another completely unfulfilled. The key to finding your own success lies in understanding what truly matters to you.

My name is david franklin i am a licensed real estate broker in California with 7 years of transaction experience. I founded California Broker Services, Inc. a full service brokerage specializing in property sales, commercial leasing representation, and bulk transfer transactions within Los Angeles County. We have expertise spanning three distinct divisions—Real Estate, ABC Licensing Consulting, and Notary Services. We represent our clients in finding a business investment to purchase, finding real estate investments or a permanent home, and also finding commercial leasing opportunities for their existing operations. My goal has always been to be at the pinnacle of my profession to become a broker and to own and operate a brokerage and I am proud that I persevered. I want people to know that I want them to find success in what ever they do!
Have you ever had to pivot?
Real estate business is all about pivoting and success hinges on your ability to pivot. Whether it’s adapting your marketing strategy to reach new client pools, understanding how shifting economic trends impact property values, or recognizing the shifting industry standard, those who can anticipate and adjust their approach are the ones who thrive.
I’ve had to pivot from working solely with residential clients to working with commercial clients. I found that I could offer more value to clientele as a full service specialty brokerage than I could from being one or the other.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Market knowledge. Understanding the market and business trends so that you have all the information.
Experience. Having experience helps you navigate difficult challenges and improves decision making
Target specific niches. Focus your marketing efforts on those areas and people. This allows you to build a reputation as an expert and attract clients seeking a tailored approach.
Working on referral. Positive word-of-mouth marketing can be incredibly powerful.
Building relationships and establishing yourself as a knowledgeable expert positions you as the go-to person when business needs arise.
