Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to David Console. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
David, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you have a hero? What have you learned from them?
They say generational wealth starts with one risk-taker, but the risks I’ve taken as an entrepreneur are nothing compared to the sacrifices my parents made to get me here—which is why they are my heroes.
Migrating from Haiti to Turks and Caicos and eventually to the United States without knowing the language or how things worked in this country was a leap of faith, and they did it all for the opportunity to build a better future for our family. Despite leaving home at such a young age, they never let me forget where I came from. My Haitian culture was embedded in me through their values—treating people with kindness, carrying myself with integrity, and always striving to be great.
When I decided to leave corporate America and become a full-time entrepreneur, both of my parents left me with words that have guided me every step of the way. My father told me, “Everything you do and attach your name to, make sure you do your best to do it the right way—all the time.” My mother said, “Always do right by people, even if they cross you or do you wrong, and you will always be successful.”
From their wisdom, I learned that integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching. That lesson isn’t just something I live by—it’s something I pass on to my daughter every morning on her way to school. My parents’ words and sacrifices continue to shape not just my journey, but the generations to come.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
A few years back, during a bachelor party trip to Houston, an idea sparked that would change my career forever. My business partner and I were discussing our careers—he was the Director of Operations at a major security company in Florida, and I was working as a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley. As he explained the day-to-day challenges of essentially running a company as an employee, I asked him a simple but powerful question:
“Have you ever thought about starting your own company?”
At first, he was hesitant, jaded by the industry’s struggles. But with some convincing, I got him on board. My own background in security wasn’t just theoretical—I worked security throughout college to pay my way through school. I’ve pulled countless overnight shifts, doubles back-to-back, and even went straight from a night shift to playing in a full college football game. That kind of grind, combined with my financial expertise and business connections, made me confident that we had everything we needed to build something great.
When we got back home, we dedicated every Saturday for six months to strategizing, planning, and putting things in motion. By the time my partner was ready to move back to Boston and officially launch, the COVID-19 pandemic hit—delaying our plans but ultimately giving us time to refine them. Then, in July 2020, during a visit to Boston, we decided to take a leap of faith. We registered for our Watch Guard Patrol license, set up our LLC, and Redcon Security was born.
The early days weren’t easy. The world was still recovering from the pandemic, and while businesses were struggling, that opened opportunities for us. We took on sporadic jobs here and there, doing whatever it took to get our name out. But by January 2021, with no steady contracts, a new mortgage, and a daughter to provide for, I made the toughest and boldest decision of my life—I left corporate America and went all in.
It wasn’t smooth sailing at first. There were long nights, doubts, and sacrifices. But through relentless effort, networking, and proving our value in every job we took on, we built Redcon Security from the ground up. Since inception, we’ve worked with some of the biggest venues in Boston, major property management companies with a national presence, and have created thousands of job opportunities within the community.
We started with security guard and concierge services, but have since expanded into Video Surveillance Systems, Automated Night Watch Surveillance Kits, and AI Gun Detection Systems. Our clients don’t just work with us for protection—they work with us because we provide white-glove, premium service.
What sets us apart?
Responsiveness & Personal Attention – Unlike large security firms where clients are just another number, every client we take on is a priority. We respond quickly, communicate effectively, and ensure that our clients never feel left in the dark.
Integrity & Attention to Detail – We take the reputation of our business seriously. Every contract we sign, every job we take, we treat it with the same level of importance. If we can’t provide the highest level of service, we won’t take on the job just for the sake of growth
Boots-on-the-Ground Leadership – Being a Boston-based company with hands-on ownership resonates with our clients. They have direct access to us, not just a 1-800 number. They know their security needs are handled by professionals who genuinely care.
Our growth has been organic and strategic—we don’t chase every contract; we focus on delivering top-tier service to those who align with our values.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Resilience isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about showing up, adapting, and pushing forward even when the path ahead is unclear.
On February 4th, 2016, during my senior year of college, I found out I was going to be a father. Just two weeks later, my beautiful daughter was born via cryptic pregnancy—February 19, 2016 7 pounds, 4 ounces, and 21 inches long. In that moment, everything changed. While I was thankful she was healthy, I was also faced with an overwhelming sense of responsibility. With only two weeks to prepare, I had no idea how I was going to provide for her. Graduation was just around the corner, but my priorities shifted. The stage I thought I was preparing to walk across was replaced with a new role—fatherhood.
I was at a major crossroads: chase my lifelong dream of playing in the NFL or step up and build a future where my daughter would always know who her father was. Pursuing football meant dedicating years to training, uncertainty, and being away from her when she needed me most. That was a sacrifice I wasn’t willing to make. In that moment, I chose to put her first and start working toward a new dream—one that would give her everything I never had growing up.
At that time, success felt like a distant goal, but I looked to the greatest example of resilience I had—my father. He was out of the house by 5 AM and didn’t return until dinner or sometimes even my bedtime. Watching him grind every single day taught me that work ethic is non-negotiable. If I combined his hustle with my understanding of how America works and my ability to navigate its complexities, I knew I could create my own path.
Now, after years of blood, sweat, and tears—giving maximum effort in everything I do—I always tell people: Even though I didn’t make it to the League (NFL), I still made it to the league, because I live life on my terms. My journey didn’t go as planned, but I built something greater—a life of purpose, success, and the ability to provide for my daughter in ways I once thought were impossible.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been a relentless focus on networking, relationship-building, and putting myself in the right rooms—by any means necessary.
People always ask me, “How do you keep finding contracts? Is there some secret database you use?” They think there’s a hidden shortcut, but the truth is, I’m the secret sauce.
Over the years, I’ve built a strong network through cold calling, cold walk-ins, and consistently showing up. I’ve done whatever it takes to get in front of the right people and make sure they know who I am. I never hesitate to step into new rooms, introduce myself, and create opportunities. There’s no magic formula—just years of grinding, staying persistent, and proving my value.
At the end of the day, business is about who you know and the relationships you build. Contracts don’t just fall into my lap—I’ve spent years cultivating trust, delivering results, and positioning myself so that when an opportunity comes up, my name is the first one people think of. And I always say this as humbly as possible because I want people to truly understand—there’s no secret sauce, just effort, consistency, and the willingness to do what others won’t.
