Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to David Clark and Dale Hudson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
David and Dale, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
We have always enjoyed reminiscing about the decade of the 80s. Then four years ago we were having a discussion about the best hair bands of the 80s and thought “hey I bet a lot of people would enjoy this discussion”. At that point DH approached DC and asked if he would be interested in doing a podcast. We then began the podcast with a cellphone and a 5 dollar microphone. The early shows were more top ten categories and driven by the thoughts of the host. Then during year 2 DC made the suggestion that we begin to take it to a video platform and start having guest on. The podcast has grown tremendously from there. As of know we are just two high school teachers having fun with a podcast that is based on having a fun conversation with friends.
David, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
We are two best friends that grew up on the same street, played the same sports, went to school together and now have the great fortune to work together in the same high school. The thing we are most proud of is being able to share our years of friendship through engaging and fun conversations with our guest on our podcast. We run the show as a group of friends having a friendly conversation with no gotcha type questioning. We have been blessed to have the guest we have had on the show and currently are booked with guest through the end of the year. We are very appreciative of all of our listeners and guest and consider them all family members. We have our family reunion every Wednesday night at 7:30 live on YouTube and TikToc. You can even catch the preshow antics beginning at 7 on TicTok.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
We are just two old guys having fun talking about the 80s. We have faced many issues which have been mostly associated with technology. More specific user error. (its ok to laugh we are old). We had one show where we forgot to hit record but luckily still captured the audio on a different platform. We learn from every show and our viewers and guest have been extremely supportive of our endeavor and continue to support the show even though we are the first to admit we make errors daily (again, its ok to laugh we are old).
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Our goal and mission is to provide some enjoyment by discussing the greatest decade ever in our opinion. We also like to use the show to give back as we have partnered with organizations such as Charlie Bubbles Cares for Kids and The Magic Yarn project, both of which are amazing organizations that give back to kids.
