We caught up with the brilliant and insightful David Anefils a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, David thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I became a Music Producer in Atlanta at the age of 16. I learned a lot about technology setting up my first recording studio in my parents basement. I had a mentor from the Church who assisted me in building my first studio computer and from then on I became a lot more confident to do my own research, add pci express sound cards and modules to make my home studio more robust.
Through perfecting my skillset, I was able to send out demos to Slip N Slide/Atlantic Records A&R who immediately got back with me, explained that an artist Plies who is new on the label really liked my beats and had wrote a song for Trina which she featured called “I got a Problem”. I produced several more songs thereafter including Plies “Look Like” featuring Def Jam Artists Young Jeezy & Fabolous
Traveling from Studio to Studio, there was always some kind of technical issue that would arise, and I became the go to person when Studio Mac’s and PC’s were malfunctioning and I would use my experience to get the recording studio computers back functioning in little to no time.
During Career as a Music Producer, I enrolled in Palm Beach State College so I could get a degree in Computer Networking & Administration. Not knowing I knew more than I realized, I was able to make the Deans list and before I even graduated I was offered a IT Position by the local government given the amount of certifications ive earned along with my test scores.
I enjoyed working for the local government and I got to meet a lot of k Officials who noticed I was the only black IT person out of a sea of 100’s of other Technologists that worked for the county at the time. I was able to earn their trust and help them with their computers, I was referred to assist a Judge with her campaign website and technology and realized that I didnt need to work for the county in order to help people with their on going issues,

I got into my industry from having experience building and troubleshooting Studio Computers in Atlanta. SupportClub.com is an MSP (Managed Service Provider) and we provide daily Computer and Network Support for several businesses including Doctors Offices, Music Studios, Museums, and more.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
We started the company in 2018. Like any other business owner, our wish was that our business would take off right away or at least the next year… I ran into a business owner who opened my eyes and told me that it takes at least 3 to 5 years to build a solid successful business.
That was an eye opener for me. I realized that I had to strategize and set monthly realistic goals to reach. We have had our growing pains as far as business going up and down.
The Pandemic was the 1 and only time that I didnt know what to expect and was in fear that our doors would have to close since the whole entire world was panicking.
By the grace of God, the Pandemic allowed us to serve businesses whose workforce was forced to work remotely which in return grew our presence in the community even more.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I produced many artist as a Atlantic Records Music Producer but as music began to change and some of the artist I was producing aged out, I was still 25 and I needed something to do that was not risky where I can upkeep my lifestyle. I researched different things, but computer networking seemed to be the career choice that stood out to me the most.
I put the beat machines down for a couple years. One of the hardest things I had to do. But setting realistic goals to better myself and focusing on my education allowed me to be where I am at today.
