David Adly, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
As the photographer at the World of Illusions, I believe in expressing value to customers through capturing meaningful moments. It’s essential to ensure a positive experience, making their investment worthwhile. The most gratifying moments occur when customers are thrilled with their photos, appreciative of the unique experience offered. With diverse scenarios like the upside-down house, giant house, and museum of illusions, achieving the perfect shot isn’t always straightforward, but being able to enhance their experience is immensely rewarding.

Immersed in the captivating world of illusions, our museum caters to diverse audiences, welcoming families, content creators, and those seeking a unique experience. Explore our enchanting photo backdrops, such as the expansive murals in the Museum of Illusions, where you become an integral part of the artwork. The Upside-Down House offers a gravity-defying twist, prompting you to rotate your photos for a delightful upside-down effect. In the Giant’s House, step into a world of oversized wonders – from giant shoes to colossal hamburgers – for whimsical photo opportunities. Engage in our exhilarating Smash-It experience, where you can release stress by breaking plates. As a dedicated photographer at this extraordinary establishment, I ensure every visitor enjoys a memorable and professionally captured experience.

Any advice for managing a team?
In my role as a shift lead at the World of Illusions, my primary focus is on fostering an environment where every team member feels heard, appreciated, and motivated to deliver their best, even in situations where customers decline assistance or choose not to purchase our souvenirs. The paramount objective is to guarantee a positive experience for our visitors, prioritizing their satisfaction over additional expenses beyond the front-of-house costs.

Can you open up about a time when you had a really close call with the business?
Amid the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, many businesses faced unprecedented uncertainties. When the museum temporarily closed down, I found myself filing for unemployment. However, the World of Illusions not only facilitated a seamless process but also graciously welcomed me back, even after I spent two years in Texas. I am genuinely grateful for their understanding and support.
