Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dave Morgan. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Dave thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
I was fortunate enough to grow up in a family that introduced me to my creativity at an early age. I grew up drawing and I mostly drew ninja turtles and battle scenes from fictional wars I’d create in my mind. I did it every day for years and that’s basically it. If you want to learn something you should probably practice on a regular practice and follow your heart. Art is the chance to express something you want to get out remember to have fun and have an open mind.
In this time we have many aids and ways to learn how to do anything you want. If you want to speed up your learning process, you just need to utilize the videos, books etc created. Once you learn you may not end up creating art that looks like how you initially intended. Always be open to change and realize you are the only thing that holds you back, so have confidence.
The biggest obstacle to learning anything is always yourself. It’s how you look at any obstacle, it can either be impossible or possible in your mind. Sometimes we build pressure on ourselves for the way we want it to end up looking. Focusing on being perfect and putting the success or failure on your back isn’t good. You have to be at a point where you don’t care and you can allow yourself to move forward without trying to make everything “perfect”. That relaxed version of yourself is more creative able to adapt.

Dave , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a local artist from the state of Arizona. Born and raised in the valley I’ve officially turned into a desert creature lol. I got into showing my art publicly by trying to find every chance I could get. I’d live paint, set up a little table with some shirts n paintings and try to get the name out on foot. I create my own style of art but I also take commissions. With my clients they know that I take their ideas and make it a reality. I would say that I’m a more detail oriented artist if anything. I came from drawing as a child which got me to focus on the detail.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part is being fortunate enough to create for a living.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Yeah I think generally speaking I want people to question things and look at the world differently after seeing my art.
