We recently connected with Dave & Ashley and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Dave & Ashley thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Alright – so having the idea is one thing, but going from idea to execution is where countless people drop the ball. Can you talk to us about your journey from idea to execution?
Dave and I had both worked live production for over a decade. We and others became great friends through the years of collaborating with conference events, short films and corporate videos. As we continued in the field of multimedia in our respected skillsets we began to have people ask us individually if we did freelance, in the end we combined our forces and started to help others create their vision through media. We are now a year into this joinery forming Black Rabbit Media LLC.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
We started to form and create video and other projects for our clients, we realized this needed to be established as something, for growth, to bring others in and to help others dreams become a reality.
As we discussed what this could really turn into, we realized we needed a name. Nothing seemed to fit, in the end an idea popped into my head and I asked Dave if it would be okay to honor my dad as he had passed away. We then applied for our LLC and other credentials under the brand name of: Black Rabbit Media LLC The Rabbit being something my dad and I had in common and is something deep we shared.
This brand is meant for growth through employment and expanding the ability to fulfill goals and dreams of those who hire us. This isn’t meant to be just a two man team, at its core, it is but Dave once being my supervisor advised me that you need to raise up others to take your place and run along side you.
Black Rabbit Media LLC is meant to be a place of growth for your personal life, skillset and a place to work well with others.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
For our team, we want to help others who have the same passion as us to jump ahead past the school of hard knocks in areas of learning and generating leads in their freelance by having Black Rabbit Media be there as an umbrella, to gather them in for growth and sending them out to do what they love, to create.
In the area of our clients, want to create solution for our clients, to help them tell their story through media.
We want to do the work we love and build the team of like minded individuals.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
Don’t be afraid to connect with others, especially if it seems they don’t have the same passions as yours, they just might help you unlock an area in you that will help you with what you are doing.
NEVER STOP learning, don’t wait for others to tell you want to do to get what you want, go and get it, set out and find the resources you need to keep growing in your journey.
Don’t stop investing in yourself EVER! Always find the time to put in, even when it seems impossible. Find people who are doing what you want to do and learn from them.
There is nothing wrong with building slowly, a slow burn is better than a flash in the pad. We bought our studio gear one piece at a time. At the beginning of your journey, be willing to build yourself, your team, your gear slowly. Business loans can be great but when first starting, try to just work with what you have and what you can get without debt off the cuff.
Be patient in the calm, what you do in the waiting will show the world what you are made of and once the gate is lifted before you, once you are able to step out into the arena and charge ahead you won’t regret building yourself in secret, when no one was watching.
Keep building yourself even when no one is looking.
