We recently connected with DAunte Hugie and have shared our conversation below.
DAunte , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
Yes I wish I could have started a lot earlier In my career as a child, but most importantly wish I had the knowledge of the music industry and having the right executives and people to push me at that time.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I got into singing at a very young age of eight years old, my grandmother would give me vocal lessons each day till I perfected my craft, she would play different music around me like Michael Jackson , Boyz 2 men, Brian McKnight ,Stevie wonder and etc.
I started to branch off into songwriting afterwards because I had soo many creative ideas that I knew will blow up one day. As I have grown into man hood I’ve been proud of the many accomplishments I have made in my life which is getting my music played on the radio station, my music published in magazines and music streams going up daily.
I believe what sets me apart from everyone is not giving up , speaking positive over my life and goals no matter what any individual have to say about my craft because I am inn control of my own destiny.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Society can support artists by letting them create greatness instead of telling the artists there view on the path they should take and the genre of music they need to stay that fits them.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
When I get to see how many streams and views on my album or music videos, it really make me feel loved and wanted as an artist,
I think being rewarded for your grind and hustle will pay off in the end,
