We were lucky to catch up with D’Aunte Hugie recently and have shared our conversation below.

D’Aunte, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?

I Learned at a very young age too sing and perform, my grandmother was always playing music around the house like Michael jackson , brian mcknight , Anita Baker and soo much other great Artists. I was also interested in Movies and what it was to be a Script Writer , i took it upon myself to also study Screen Writing but my most essential skill Music and learning how to sing , so i took music way more serious then writing scripts at that time. Being a Independent Artist is very hard because you find yourself trying to create a fan base and connect with different people that will like your music , and when you can’t find shows or when people give you critism on your music you kinda feel sad for a bit but you learn to also be patient and realize not everyone will like your work soo you challenge yourself to get better each day.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

My name is D’Aunte , Im from Fort Worth Texas, i first got into singing when i was 14 years old. i was always mimicking MIchael Jackson ,Boyz 2 Men, New Edition and other major musicians that i know. I kept perfecting my craft all the way up until i was 18 when i would start performing around some places and get major attraction from crowds and started to build a fan base afterwards. I put out an Ep called “Loves A Stage” Late December of 2019 and it was hitting charts around that time, but before that i was excited to work on a project because i never had a chance to work inside a major recording studio. i Think what sets me apart from others is my hard work , ambition and my determination to achieve the goals i have set out for myself, im always having a positive state of mind to make everything i do number #1.
Im currently working on a new album called “Undiscovered” and working on a movie called ” The Throwback” , i cant wait for everyone to see the creative masterpiece that awaits.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect of being an Artist is being able to write my ideas out and being able to present them to people who is also interested in the things i like which is Music and writing scripts. I love to write each and every day i feel like that’s where alot of my creative ideas come from.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

Yes, my mission is to become greater at my craft each day, im looking to be the one of the biggest stars in hollywood one day, so im working really hard to be my own boss and to get myself out there to show the world my true talent.
