We recently connected with Dashia Trowers and have shared our conversation below.
Dashia , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. One of the most important things small businesses can do, in our view, is to serve underserved communities that are ignored by giant corporations who often are just creating mass-market, one-size-fits-all solutions. Talk to us about how you serve an underserved community.
From time to time, my law firm has reduced our legal fees, so as to provide legal services to individuals, who would otherwise, probably not have legal access.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am a local solo practitioner, with more than 20 years experience. My law firm concentrates primarily on divorce, child support and child custody matters. I attended Nova Southeastern University undergraduate and Shepard Broad Law Center.
My approach to the practice is more from a collaborative standpoint. I encourage my clients, where possible, to attempt to amicably settlement their differences. I am acutely aware that the dissolution of a family is a debilitating process, and I believe that my approach can somewhat assist with this most difficult time.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of new clients for me have been former clients. Several past clients have referred new client to me, or they have returned to my firm, for assistance with another legal matter.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
When I was younger, I was always told that working hard was the secret. In fact, I thought it was the only thing that I needed to do. But upon entering law school, I quickly realized that networking is very important as well. It is through the connections that I have made and fostered over time, that have really helped me in my field. Connections are invaluable.
