We recently connected with Dashae Tuggle and have shared our conversation below.
Dashae , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
It is important for black owned companies to not support each other in sales and promotions but to learned how we can keep the black dollar in the black hands as long as possible to create generational wealth and growth.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Dashae Tuggle from Chicago and has moved to Houston Texas. I’ve been here for about two years because of the growth of black-owned businesses and the opportunities they have here to grow and learn about creating businesses that will scale.
The start of this business came from seeing the growth of businesses raise in the black community while understanding the need for business education, opportunities, and financial literacy. Right now I promote black-owned businesses while doing the background work to take this a lot further in diving in to create outside relationships that will help the continued growth of black companies.
I am most proud of the willingness to help I’ve seen others provide and the willingness and eagerness to learn and grow as individuals. I am in the beginning stages of this business and can not wait to see the outcome of the background work I am currently putting in.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
It all started as a pop-up shop idea for black-owned businesses, but once I researched the need for those types of businesses I wanted to take it up a notch and do so much more.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn that just hard and dedication can get you where you need to be when you also need the education and relationships to go along with succeeding in this type of field. Because you don’t know what you don’t know and it’s better to run a business with knowledge and help from those who have practiced it instead of doing everything by yourself.
