Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to DaSan Onyx Frazier. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
DaSan Onyx , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
Have you ever heard the expression,”Make money doing what you love”? Well, I have been blessed to actually make that statement a reality and live my life according to what makes me happy. Let’s go back to the beginning. Spring of 2020, COVID-19 hit the world by surprise and turned it upside down. I was a sophomore at Morehouse College playing football in Atlanta, GA. Once school became online only, I had this overwhelming amount of free time. So like a lot of my peers, I started making Tik Tok videos. They ranged from comedy skits, family positivity, and HBCU experience. As my followers grew daily, I started to think “maybe I’m onto something here” which encouraged me to make more videos. I was receiving messages stating, “thanks for your positive vibes, thanks for making me laugh, and I appreciate your videos, they’re very uplifting”. Those messages and many more helped me tap into my creative purpose. As I continued to create videos and my followers kept growing, I started to obtain brand collaborations. Having the pleasure of working with top brands such as Spotify, DoorDash, Triller, Madden, and NBA All-Star just to name a few, it became apparent this is what I wanted to do. School started back on campus and I was balancing it along with football, being a social media content creator, and taking acting classes. For the next two years (junior and senior year of college) I focused on developing my acting craft. I’ve had the pleasure of working with top acting coaches and in May of 2022 I’m proud to say I became a “Morehouse Man” with a degree in Business Management. Now at the age of 22 years old, I’m working on my brand, the risk I decided to take was on myself. I want to define who I am, I want to grow in my purpose.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is DaSan Onyx Frazier, I grew up in Minneapolis, MN, I’m a recent Morehouse College class of 22′ graduated, and an HBCU Ambassador. I have been told what sets me apart from others is my versatility to transform into any character or role that I’m presented with. I believe what sets me apart from others is my discipline, humility/faith in myself, and I’m consistently working on my craft. I’m most proud of the morals, beliefs, and hard work my parents showed me, which, provided me with a solid foundation. This foundation grew integrity, confidence, and determination. With these three foundational pillars I have been able to provide my followers videos into my worldly experiences through comedy, family positivity, HBCU culture, and music genres.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
To be honest, I’m a young black man in American. I know the historical trauma and systematic barriers that comes with how others can perceive me. My resilience is not allowing society to define me, not taking “no” for an answer, and knowing quitting is not allowed.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
There are multiple rewards I have been blessed with when I think about the collaborations and partnerships I have made with brands, the network and relationships I have gained, but most importantly I have appreciated reading the comments from my followers and all the positive vibes they send my way. Hearing that my videos placed a smile on someone’s face, or made a bad day turn into a good one is always nice to hear about. Being kind is such a simple gesture that goes a long way and I grateful to be able to be a blessing to others.
