We recently connected with Daryll Santos and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Daryll thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Along with taking care of clients, taking care of our team is one of the most important things we can do as leaders. Looking back on your journey, did you have a boss that was really great? Maybe you can tell us about that boss and what made them a wonderful person to work for?
Absolutely, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have two remarkable mentors in my life, Jose Gonzalez and Adel Jalili, who have significantly shaped my professional journey. I firmly believe that one of the greatest ‘cheat codes’ to life is having a mentor, and in my case, I was blessed to have two who were perfectly aligned with my aspirations.
Jose is a master in leadership and operations. Under his mentorship, I delved deep into the fundamentals of business. What stood out the most about Jose was his ability to lead by example. He wasn’t just a figure who issued orders from a distance; he was right there with us, demonstrating what true leadership looked like. Whenever I had a question, he was always ready to answer and take me through the process. Observing him navigate complex challenges and make strategic decisions was an invaluable learning experience. He instilled in me the essence of effective leadership – it’s not just about guiding a team, but inspiring them through your actions, and showing them that you care not only about the work, but that you care about your team, too.
Adel, on the other hand, was a wizard in product and marketing. From him, I learned the art of empathizing with our audience, a skill crucial in today’s customer-centric business landscape. He had a unique approach to selling – one that wasn’t just about closing deals but about creating value and building lasting relationships. Adel also taught me the importance of personal conduct in professional settings. His lessons on carrying oneself with class, maintaining good habits, and the subtle nuances of personal branding have been instrumental in shaping my professional demeanor.
Both Jose and Adel have left an indelible mark on not just my life but also my career. Their teachings went beyond just business lessons; they were life lessons that have equipped me to navigate the complex world of entrepreneurship with confidence. Their impact on me has been profound, and I attribute a significant part of my success to the wisdom and guidance they generously shared.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Of course. I’m a tech entrepreneur and artist manager, I’ve been blessed to be involved professionally with 2 topics that I love: sports and music.
At the core of my professional endeavors is JukePicks, a mobile app I co-founded to revolutionize the sports betting landscape. JukePicks is not just another betting service; it’s a comprehensive solution that empowers sports bettors to make informed decisions. We leverage artificial intelligence to provide data-driven insights, while ensuring a user-friendly experience that caters to both seasoned bettors and newcomers. What sets JukePicks apart is our commitment to accuracy, user experience, and a community-driven approach. We’re not just about helping people place bets; we’re about enhancing the overall experience of sports betting, making it more accessible, enjoyable, and profitable.
In addition to JukePicks, I’m involved in the music industry as an artist manager. I work with two incredibly talented artists: JamieBoy, an R&B/Pop artist, and 3Nights, a Latin music artist. My role as an artist manager is multifaceted and includes overseeing their career development, keeping operations on-track, and ensuring that their artistic vision is realized. It’s a role that requires a blend of empathy, strategic planning, and an understanding of music.
What I’m most proud of in my career is the ability to be involved in such diverse industries that I’ve always loved and bring a unique perspective to each. Whether it’s in the dynamic world of technology through sports betting or the creative realm of music, my goal has always been to innovate and elevate the experience for all involved.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Building a social media presence for JukePicks has been an exhilarating journey, marked by a focus on creating content that resonates deeply with sports bettors. The key to our rapid growth and sustained engagement has been our commitment to producing content that is not just informative but also highly relatable and entertaining. This approach has helped us maintain a sense of virality and relevance in our posts.
A significant part of our strategy involves putting myself in front of the camera, delivering picks directly from our app. This personal touch adds authenticity and relatability to our content. We complement our social media efforts with targeted email marketing, creating a cohesive and comprehensive outreach strategy.
For those just starting to build their social media presence, my advice is to focus on relatability. Your audience needs to connect with you on a personal level. Show your face, let them hear your voice, and give them a sense of your personality. Are you funny, informed, articulate? These qualities are crucial in making your content appealing and shareable. Remember, people follow people, not just brands. Your authenticity and uniqueness are your greatest assets in the crowded social media landscape.

How’d you meet your business partner?
My partnership with Niko Mungcal is a testament to the power of organic relationships in the world of entrepreneurship. We met over a decade ago and developed a bond akin to brothers. Our journey from friends to business partners has been a natural progression, fueled by mutual trust and a shared vision.
Our initial attempt into entrepreneurship was with JukeBaux, a music-social app concept we developed in 2016. The idea was innovative – a digital platform to enjoy music with friends, emulating a concert experience. Despite our enthusiasm and hard work, we were green and faced challenges in execution. However, the experience was invaluable and laid the groundwork for our future endeavors.
Fast forward to 2023, and we’ve come full circle with the launch of JukePicks. This venture is a culmination of our growth, learning, and enduring partnership. Our strong friendship and complementary skills have been instrumental in creating a product that we’re both incredibly proud of. The trust and chemistry we share are the foundation of our business, and it’s these elements that I believe are integral to any successful entrepreneurial partnership. Our journey from JukeBaux to JukePicks is a story of resilience, evolution, and the power of shared values.
