Alright, Daryl thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
RedFlareMedia started off as a fun way for my girlfriend and I to blog and capture our daily activities. This soon turned into taking more and more pictures and finally started a page out of it. Although it took some time to build the clientele we have, we are grateful for the journey and support.
Daryl, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I have always loved cameras and capturing images and videos. Right before I moved to Florida I started to create more videos based on surroundings, and other types of content, and posted them on instagram. I love editing in my free time, along with being an avionics technician, I seem to always have something to do.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Our page started off as just close friends and family watching and supporting. Once I moved to Florida, I would go up to random people and ask to take their picture in exchange for a follow on our page. This helped us gain a vast majority of our supporters and mostly how we made our connections.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Redflaremedia started off as something fun to do in our free time. It quickly took over all of our free time which was very difficult trying to juggle work, and my girlfriend handle school all at the same time. For a while we both were very busy and things were not going up for the business. Yet, we took a step back and collected our thoughts and came back stronger with more content to create.
